"Maybe not this one." She raised her eyebrows up and down. "What about this one?" She asked me and Gen. "I don't care mom, pick whatever you would like." Gen said.

"Everleigh?"

"Both are nice."

"I like both too thats why I'm asking you." Brooklynne said.

Just then, dad came in. "Oh what's happening here." I internally rolled my eyes. He's never been here and when he is he acts like nothing has happened.

And we're all normal.

"Oh look, honey you're back from your business trip to Alaska." Brooklynne cheered. "Yes I am," He gave her a big hug and they kissed each other like their life depended on it.

I didn't even know he went to Alaska. At least Brooklynne gave some information. "Forget talking. It's probably been a year since the four of us have even been in the same room together." I said out of disappointment.

Gen looked at me and nodded. "I gotta agree with ma girl on this one." And then went back on her phone, as if the conversation would end right there.

I sighed and got up. "I'll be in my room." I left to go up to my room, and closed the door. I checked my phone and saw I had message from an unknown number.

Guess you can never forget a girl after she's put a scar on you face. Am I right?

I smiled at the text and I don't know why. Why would I want to hear from someone that I barely even know?

I guess you're right.  I replied

He didn't even take a second to respond.

See you at the charity ball today, wonder what unique thing you'll do this time. Just don't insult or slap someone in front of public this time. I want to be surprised.

I wasn't even planning on doing something like that. And just because he kind of asking for it, I'm not going to do anything either. Brooklynne might not let me come to any other event of hers.

And I kind of like this bond that me and her are making over here.

Wasn't planning on it.

Me and Brooklynne arrived at the entrance of the Charity Ball taking place in one of the five star hotels in downtown. I don't think Brooklynne and dad's salary combine could pay rent for this thing.

We were greeted by two men that looked in their early 30s and they told us where to go.

As we entered the hall, soft and quite music was playing while you could her slow whispers and forks and spoons clinging plates.

We sat down at two seats that said Ms. Briar, and Ms. Emerson.

We were served some food, and then I excused myself to go to the bathroom. I was about to open the door but then an arm grabbed me and I was pushed up against the wall.

"Told you I'd see you here, right?" He whispered into my ear. He was less than 1/16 of an inch away from his lips touching my neck. "It's possible to get so attached to someone, when you barely know them?" He asked. He placed a light kiss on my neck, and all of a sudden there were butterflies in my stomach.

My legs were shaking and I could barely move my hands. He started placing light kisses all over my neck until he reached my jawline and that's when I was done. I was completely weak after that.

He definitely knows how to make a girl feel that way. No wonder why everyone was falling for him. He pulled away and didn't go further all though part of my body was screaming for more. I just hope he didn't see that.

He smiled at me and left leaving me completely speechless after.

What just happened?

I returned back to the table after using the bathroom. And just then a man looking about in his mid 40s went on stage. "Good afternoon to those who are attending this ball today, much thanks for coming, I and Mr. Randall highly appreciate it. I put a lot of effort into this one, and I even wore my best watch. Wasted a lot of time looking for the best watch."

All the adults in the crowd including Brooklynne laughed at his lame dad joke. Seriously?
