The rest of the night went by quick.
Adults chattering and glasses toasting to each other. "How are you doing Mrs. Briar?" A really tall guy, I think he was Mr. Randall, because he had the same features as Connor, took Brooklynne's hand in his and kissed it, god, she's literally married!
Brooklynne blushed and said, "Oh please, call me Brooklynne." Is she seriously blushing? I couldn't tolerate it anymore, so I decided to get up and leave.
"I'm going to get a drink," I said, but they were both so lost in conversation that I don't think they heard me.
I went up to the bar, and saw Connor sitting there with a drink in his hand, twirling another blonde girls hair in his finger.
What were you expecting Eve? He's a player! Even though I knew that he was, and this was going to happen some day. I just felt so heartbroken, I may have gotten some feelings for him over the time, but he clearly just proved that he hasn't.
Of course he hasn't, are you stupid?
I shoved the thought away in the back of my head, where all 'junk files' go, but it kept coming back to the useful, good-to-know information side.
You like him Everleigh! Whatever, I really don't. I rolled my eyes and sat down on a stool, two seats away from the new flirting two. She was clearly trying to turn him on, by trying to move back and forth and biting her lip. Like seriously?
You would do the same if he was at your hips like that, No I wouldn't. She's clearly a random slut who's looking for more boyfriends to steal. He's not your boyfriend though. Yeah he's not, forget it.
"One bloody marry please." I told the bartender. He nodded his head and did the cool flipping bottle tricks. Come on man, who's even looking at you that you have to show off so much?
He flipped his hand and served me the glass as if he was a french waiter, and then winked. Wait- did he just wink at me? "For my lovely lady in red," He said. I grabbed the glass from him, but while his hand was still out, another hand from behind me grabbed it and twisted it.
"Watch your language. She's my lovely lady in red. You're just a bartender." Damn. I looked back and saw Connor with gritted teeth giving the bartender a death glare. He shaked and moved away, getting back to his work.
"Why did you do that?" His expression was softer now and he simply shrugged. "Because I can." I opened my mouth and stared at him in disgust. He thinks he can just come here, do whatever he wants, for no reason, and say 'because I can'.
"And what made you think you 'just can'?" He smirked and placed our hands together, the slight touch of his hands would make butterflies have heart attacks in my stomach, but this, holding holding hands, was enough to make my organs get drunk on blood.
"Sweetheart, I don't know if you know this yet, but I am very possessive over what's mine. And when something is mine, I don't let anyone else touch it.
I scoffed at what he said, I don't care if it sounded rude or whatever. If he cared about rude then maybe he would think about not hurting others feelings when you basically suck another person's mouth in front of them.
"Yeah whatever, here." I slide the drink over to him. "I don't- I don't want that." I rolled my eyes again, the only thing I can do to him.
"Then what else is your lovely lady in red, just don't say me."
"You."
