My Desolated Love

Lin's POV

I saw Ash walking out of the rink, finally.

"There you are," I groan, getting up from my seat at the curb.

"Why didn't you come inside-" They stopped halfway through their sentence, remembering that I was banned from the rink. "...Oh, right."

"Yeah. Anyway, Leo's waiting for us,"

"Leo? You mean Leo's car?"

"No, I didn't drive this time, for the love of-" I was interrupted by Leo honking the horn. Cam rolled down the window from the passenger seat and yelled to us,

"What are you idiots waiting for?"

"C-Cam is here too!?" Ash's face went red so quickly, I felt like it should've been recorded in Murphy's World Records 2020. I started walking towards the car, only to realize that Ash wasn't with me. The coward had started speed-walking back to the rink.

"Forgot my bag...!" They started to exclaim.

I stopped and crossed my arms, smiling slightly as I yelled after them, "Ash, I have your bag,"

They froze. They really can be an idiot sometimes.

"Hurry up and get in the car, it's not like you have to propose to them or anything, you just have to ride home with them, jeez, we ride to school with them every morning.,"

Ash groaned, slowly following me to the car. As we walked, I saw Ash trying hard not to smile. It was kind of obvious that they were happy to see Cam. Ash got in the backseat and I stood by the passenger door, smiling innocently, waiting for Cam to get out.

After a few moments of Leo tapping his foot impatiently, I lean in through the window and whisper aggressively in Cam's ear,

"You coward, go sit next to Ash,"

They hesitated before throwing an insult: "But you're too short to ride in the front seat,"

I kind of glared at them without meaning to, but whatever happened, they knew that they messed up.

"Thank you~" I sang as they got out of the front seat and I rightfully claimed shotgun.

I looked behind me after I buckled my seatbelt: Cam and Ash were sitting a seat apart and both of them were red in the face. I was close to yelling at them and calling them cowards, but the tension was hilarious.

"Let's go to the mall!" I exclaimed suddenly, only to be immediately turned down.

"No!" Ash and Cam were quick to refuse.

"Well, that was fast... Okay, Leo! Let's go to the mall!" I chimed.

"Lin!" Ash exclaimed. I laughed, knowing that they did want to go, just not with Cam. I turned up the music and looked at them, signaling that they didn't have a choice at this point.

We arrived at the mall after 20 minutes. I fiddled with my hair as we walked in, Cam and Ash awkwardly shuffling behind me and Leo. Hot Matter caught my eye right away.

"Oh, oh, let's go to Hot Matter! I need some new clothes anyway-"

"You do not!" Ash exclaimed, grabbing me by the hood, "We have to at least get food while we're here, I'm starving,"

"I want to go to Hot Matter too!" Cam smiled, catching up to me.

"Oh. Okay. Yeah, um, that's cool. Food later." Ash replied. We all walked into Hot Matter, and I immediately started dashing around and looking at all of the hoodies and shirts that I wanted. Ash mostly followed Cam, though they were staring at all of the Saiki K merch. By the time we left, I had gotten three t-shirts, and a mini TBHK backpack. Ash didn't get anything, but they paid for the HxH shirt that Cam wanted. And Leo... Leo didn't get anything because he was so torn between everything he wanted and decided not to spend money at all.
