"CHRIS, STOP. IM FINE, OKAY?" i stated, pushing his hands out of my face.

"motherfucker bitch slapped you and you expect me to be fine with it? not to mention you having another panic attack. that hasn't happened since before the fall" he argued, grabbing my chin so he could continue applying some ointment for the bruising.

i sighed, picking at the skin around my fingers, "don't worry, dad took care of it. ed looks way worse than i do."

"yeah and he deserves it" my dad appeared, walking into the rv where i was sat on the counter as chris attended me.

chris could only roll his eyes at our father. closing the lid of the ointment before helping me off the counter.

"i've got jim in handcuffs out there now. he's been digging graves for something. wont tell us what"

"so what? nothing normal anymore." i state, shrugging my shoulders as i grab another book from dales shelf, "maybe they're for geeks... or us"

"carsyn" my dad reprimands, my brother only sending me a warning gaze, "you need to stop acting out"

i scoff, "i'm just making life a little more interesting."

my brother chuckles lowly, "the dead walking isn't enough for you?"

"i guess not"

most of the group gathered around the fire. eating the fish andrea and amy caught from the lake. we usually don't get lucky like this so we're all grateful tonight.

"you don't like fish" my brother whispers to me, watching me grab off the main plate.

i shrug, taking a bite, "i don't know when i'll be able to eat next. i'm hoping since i haven't ate in so long that it'll taste good"

he smiles, ruffling my hair while morales begins to talk, "i've got to ask you, man. it's been driving me crazy. what's with the watch?"

"what about my watch?" dale asks, taking notice to the watch as he shifts it on his arm.

"are you talking about how he checks it throughout the day? like we have to worry about time now." i mused, earning chuckles and nods from the others.

"what happened to that locket mom gave you?"chris questioned while the other continued conversing with each other.

i sighed, "sadly, that's one of the things i forgot to pack. toiletries and clothes seemed more important at the time."

"here" my dad cut into our conversation. we were all three sat close so he must of heard us talking to each other.

i turn to see him dangling out the exact silver locket we were just talking about. it was a plain simple chain with a little heart locket pendant. my moms initial engraved in the middle.
