THE LOUD REVVING from daryl's motor cycle surprisingly woke me up from my peaceful sleep. i looked at my surroundings, remembering the fact that we left our two other vehicles behind when we left the cdc. that's why we were now in dales rv.

i rubbed my eyes clean of sleepiness before turning to find me smashed in between glenn and my brother on the bed in the back.

i don't even remember falling asleep but after everything we went through in the past couple days i'm not surprised.

we lost all those people back at the camp attack, followed by jim and jackie. i guess she didn't believe she was strong enough. i wish she would've known that i thought she was.

"you sure do sleep a lot" a rough voice spoke, causing me to quickly look down at the boy laying beside me.

"well good morning to you too, glenn" i muttered, shaking my head at him as i shimmied my way off the bed.

"it's not really morning if i didn't fall asleep" he started, sitting up while my brother let out little snores, "i really can't anymore"

i shrugged, "i slept like a damn baby."

i didn't bother hearing whatever he had to say next as i moved out of the door and into the main area where my dad and andrea were sat at the dining table.

"morning" my dad greeted, earning a small nod before i walked to the front sitting in the chair next to dale. me and my dad got into another argument at the stop after the cdc. he said some harsh things and i really haven't talked to or forgiven him since.

"good morning carsyn marie" dale smiled, handing me the map so he didn't have to multitask, "and glenn"

"he follows me everywhere" i muttered, looking up at glenn who suddenly appeared behind the seat i was sitting in.

"do not— i was literally about to come up here before you even woke up" he defended.

i scoffed, rolling my eyes, "why didn't you then?"

"now now kids " dale started, shaking his head at us before turning to look at the road, "oh jeez— aw no."

i glanced away from glenn to where dale was looking. seeing daryl starting to make a u turn but also tons of cars abandoned and left on the highway behind him.

my mouth gaped open at the sight. i quickly focused my eyes back on the map. trying to see if there were any detours we could take just incase there wasn't a way through.

"see a way through?" dale questioned daryl as he pulled up next to the rv window. daryl looked back before nodding, motioning for us to follow him.

"maybe we should go back— there's an interstate bypass" glenn started, pointing down at the map but was quickly cut off by dale, "we can't spare the fuel."
