At the beginning of the day all I was waiting for was my two classes with Bella. Gym and Biology were set to be the highlight of my day. But as I got closer to the classroom, the closer I got to her. Isabella Marie Swan.

I entered the class and she --of course-- had found a way to sit beside penny-headed Edward Cullen. I tried to casually gaze over at the pair, prepared to see her drooling over him. Instead I saw Edward bracing himself to vomit. His hand was placed over his mouth as he shook slightly, turned opposite her in his chair. I forced down a laugh, looked like he was so enraptured after all.

I looked away from them and found a seat next to the only other free person in the room, who I was already --thankfully-- acquainted with. "Hi Layla," I said, setting down my stuff with a thump.

She looked up from the microscope she was already using. "Hey." Her eyes flicked up to look at the back of Bella's head. "I see your sister got lucky with her lab partner, huh?"

"Is it just me or did he look weird when I walked in? He was super angry, or nauseous."

"Yeah, I've never seen anyone look so intensely.. disgusted? Usually their whole group is scarily stoic, except maybe the blonde guy."

I immediately cut her off, "I don't really get it. Maybe because she was staring at him? He's uncomfortable?"

"Yeah, maybe he's trying to explode her with his mind," she huffed out a small chuckle.

"You don't think he would hurt her for that right? He seems.. off. Something's wrong with him," I twirled one of my curls with my finger nervously.

Layla's gaze softened. "He just seems like a weirdo, maybe a slight creeper. I don't think he's violent like that. If he was he would've had to beat up half the student population, everyone stares at the Cullens."

Her reassurance was nice, but I was still throughly freaked out. I twirled a curl anxiously around my finger, I could hardly focus on what Mr.Banner was trying to teach. I bit my lip, trying to pay attention but my gaze kept snapping back to Bella and Edward. I could see him shaking and avoiding her eyes.

Despite the current resentment that sat heavy on my mind, I felt bad for my sister. I could tell she was already interested in him. Bella always came quick to feelings, expressing them without much prior thought.

Her interest was understandable. He looked like just her type, and believe me I knew her type. She liked to talk about how the boys in Phoenix were all dumb beefcakes who couldn't understand a single word above a 3rd grade reading level and how they only found joy in the gym or in bringing women down. Which was true in some cases, but as a general statement I thought it was unfair. Edward looked smart, like a book reader-- I suppose. Her attraction was now clouded over by the fact her chair clung to the edge of the table, evidence of her attempt to escape the tense atmosphere. She focused her eyes down on her notebook, her head tucked in what I assumed was embarrassment.
