Third times a charm

Fresh Start

It is the start of Sophomore year for me at Finland High School. I have goals to set this year and I will fulfill them. Last year as a freshman I went through a mess of things.

I finally got to experience a toxic friend for the first time. I had a massive crush on Michael, he was on the baseball team and when I finally got the courage to confess, he shut me down and Rebecca, toxic friend, told everyone in the school about it. For a few weeks everyone would whisper about it and pity me, but I didn't need their pity I needed them to shut up about the whole thing. I dropped Rebecca and moved on with my life.

I did have someone back in elementary but I broke it off because well it's elementary school. And I had that same person again in middle school, but again broke it off because 1. It was 6th grade 2. My friends kept on telling me he was flirting with them and other girls in the school. After him I would have other crushes but soon realized that they would never like me back, and after Freshmen year I accepted the fact that I didn't need someone in my life to make me happy.

I am happy with being single for the rest of my life. No distractions, focus on school, and get grossed out by seeing couples in school.

Like I said, I have goals for Sophomore year and I have listed them.

Emma's goal plan:

-Focus in school
- Aim for a lead role in Drama club
- Get ready for driving school
- Make Mom and Dad proud
- Don't fall in love

The last one is underlined because that is the most important one.

Enough about me, let me tell you about my parents.

Mom (Mary):

- Works and owns a bookstore called "The Book Worm" (I work there too and also get payed)
- Sweetest person you can ever meet
- Calls me a book worm for my love of reading
- Can make AWESOME coffee

Dad (Daniel):

-Works as an accountant
- Helps out Mom with the bookstore in his free time
- Will literally kick anyone's ass if they messed with me or Mom
- Loves math (I hate it with a passion)
- Is an awesome cook

Salem (Cat):

- Emotional support animal
- Got him when I was 10
- Sleeps with me
- My child

My parents fell in love in when my Mom was working on building her own bookstore, The Book Worm, and my Dad was collecting all of her financial money for it. They slowly started developing feelings for each other and my Dad asked her out. Two years later, they had me, a 15 year old girl starting her second year in high school.

I'm an only child. I like it most of the time, I like to be alone and it's peaceful around the house.

I have a group of friends whom I love very much and I would die for them. Literally, if you asked me the question "If your friends jumped off a bridge, would you do it too?" I would say yes with no hesitation.

I'm an average student in school. I get A's and B's and I'm well liked by my teachers. I'm in Drama club and Book club. I try to help those around me and the school. I've gotten a few awards for being a good student and my parents have always been proud of me.

I like how my life is right now and I'm proud of myself and my accomplishments in life. I may not have a boyfriend or have a crush on a boy, but that doesn't mean that I can't love myself. Heck, I could marry myself if I wanted to.

Life doesn't always go as planned the way we want it to, but we can always improve on our mistakes.

I want to see how my Sophomore year turns out before I have to be worrying about college and leaving my friends.

Nothing will get in my way.
