tw// very implied abuse, mentions of broken jaws, controlling someone (like possesion), a lot of tr!shadow hurt lmao, tgo is a little creepy here but nothing too bad

a lot of the writing style here is inspired by bouquets-of-rain!! (sorry for the ping lol)

also this is for an TR au, to summarize TGO wins and Sabre got locked away somewhere forever. However TGO ofc isn't a good guy so the darkness quickly begins taking over everything.

also shadow got his jaw broken then got possesed by the great one ,, whoops

THE FIRST THING The Great One noticed was that Shadows body almost seemed to freeze. It's not like he moved much orginially, he'd simply been standing still, but it was like he flinched at the bare molecules in the air. He'd suddenly seemed far more tense.

The second- and most obvious- thing he'd noticed was the darkness that formed a beautiful pair of horns on his head looked like it had begun to melt like wax. If he looked closely, he could see minuscule drips of darkness starting to fall to the base of the horn. He doubted Shadow would notice it now though.

The third thing he noticed was the bright ruby-red eyes Shadow wore while under his grace were gone, instead reverted to a dull crimson.

"Elite?"

Shadow looked up, but didn't say a word due to his broken jaw- not like he could considering the plates around his chin to keep it in place. Shadows eyes focused solely on the Great One. Smart boy.

"I have something to attend to. Wait here until I return."

The Great One turned and began to wander off, but paused once he was out of Shadows sight. He hummed to himself and listened for a moment to see if he'd already began to run off.

One, two, three, four..

The air felt still. Shadow looked around, unsure where The Great One had run off to. He was almost waiting for him to return and discover him; unfortunately, he wasn't completely wrong. He still wasn't alone yet.

Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen..

The Great One couldn't help but smile a bit as Shadow finally began to walk away. He waited a few more seconds, maybe to see if Shadow would return like the loyal scum he was.

Alas, he didn't, which almost felt like a blessing. Playing a game of cat and mouse with the boy couldn't hurt him. After all, he was a god, he deserved a toy to play with every now and then didn't he?

The halls all were painted the same bloody color, making Shadow feel like he was sprinting through a damned corn maze with no end. He was too nervous to break into a sprint considering he had no idea where The Great One was.

He felt like a predator was hunting him now, ready to rip his stomach out of his body. Nonetheless, Shadow had to stay calm. He was able to get away from the Great One, albeit only with a bit of luck, now he just needed to get out of here.

Shadow's breath hitched as he felt something cold and slimy fall down his forehead. At first he thought it was a drop of sweat, but it was too thick in texture to be that. Shadow rose his armor-covered hand up to touch it, and pulled away to see it covered in a black goo.

Darkness?

Slow realization hit him as he lifted his hand to his horns and poked air- but instead of air he hit something slimy. Something on his broken-off horns that grew up like a ugly plant.
