"I can't."

"You have to."

Seer guided Colle's arm slightly, pressing the tip of the sword to his stomach. His vision was blurring, dark spots filling it. Through all of them, he could still see the tears building in Colle's eyes. Seer knew his body was close to succumbing, and inched himself closer to death.

"Please. There isn't time to find someone else."

"No, we can find someone- Genesis, somebody-" Colle spoke frantically, pulling the sword away and dropping it to the ground. He instead grabbed Seer's arms to try and hoist him up better, considering Seer was leaning against him and only him for support. His own body was shutting down, courtesy of the darkness. Regardless of how Seer's muscle's were aching, he pushed himself off Colle.

Of course, he hit the ground in an instant. With an aching hand, he let his fingertips grab the blade of the sword. In the reflection of it, he could see Colle's panic.

"Seer, stop it, please-" His voice was breaking; Colle was leaning down now, trying to tug the sword out of Seer's hands. He was trying to be careful not to slice Seer's hands open, but Seer made sure to press his palms against the metal, "Stop, I can't do it, please."

"I can't do it myself." Seer said with a chuckle, "You're braver than me."

"I can't..."

"Please. I can't stay in control much longer."

Colle raised the sword to Seer again, first to his heart, then to his stomach, then raised a bit to his ribs.

"I- I can't."

"You can. Just do it."

Colle bit his lip, harsh, waiting for the blood to draw. His hands were shaking, his body didn't feel connected to his brain. All he could do was stare at Seer, stare at his long blue hair, stare at his veins slowly turning black, stare at his teary eyes.

"Do you want this?"

Seer didn't want to die yet, but he needed to.

"Yes." He mumbled, and leaned forward.

Colle sucked in a breath, and looked up to the sky. The sun was almost out. He raised a hand up to his hair, slowly rubbing his head. Seer must've been in so much pain, and all Colle could do was be the end to that pain.

He sucked in a breath, and yanked Seer close. His hand let go of the sword as soon as it went through him, and he heard Seer gasp in his ear.

Without hesitation, he wrapped both his arms around Seer, refusing to look down at him. All he could look at was the sky, and feel as Seer's chilly breaths turned colder and colder. The handle of the sword pressed against his stomach as he tugged Seer closer. Seer didn't seem against it as he slowly threw his limp arms over Colle's shoulders.

"I'm sorry." Seer mumbled, something Colle would've never heard if Seer wasn't right in his ear, "I didn't have the courage to. I'm sorry it was you."

"It's not your fault Seer."

"It is."

The silence was overbearing. Colle felt Seer's blood begin to soak into his clothes.

"Tell them it was me. That I was a coward, taking an easy way out."

"You aren't. You've done everything for everybody, and-"

"What will you tell them, then?"

Colle didn't know what to say to that; not the coward part, but the worry of what excuse, what fake story he'd make for Seer's death. He sat and played with Seer's hair, refusing to think and let the reality of all of this sink in.

".. I love you."

"What?"

Seer didn't respond back.

Colle moved him slightly, and only saw his eyes. Barely alive. Only trying to hold onto Colle like a final, breaking lifeline.

Breaking was right. Colle felt like he was going to pass out at the sight.

His only thought was to bring a quicker end, so he yanked he sword out- and almost gagged. He pulled Seer as close as he could now, feeling blood soak into his jacket much more rapidly. Tears began to rise up his throat and pour out of his eyes like never before.

"I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry. Seer, Seer, I'm sorry. Please. Please."

He wanted to beg for him to wake up, but he knew it was useless. He eventually fell onto his back, because the weight of holding his dead friend was too much. He hugged him as if it'd somehow bring him back.

The night brought a chill, and Colle clung against a cold body for any sort of warmth. Not even his blood was warm now.

"I love you too. I'm sorry. Please."

Nothing.
