'Cause I knew you were trouble
when you walked in
So shame on me' ~

AFTER A LOT of confusion, Gwen had finally bought herself a homecoming dress, it was a tricky task, and her mom managed to make her do loop-de-loops in the shopping aisles, however she persevered. Leaving victorious with a long, emerald green dress folded neatly in a paper bag.

Unfortunately, the teenager still had detentions to sit through during her breaks, in which she'd inevitably see Peter. Hopefully he'd still remain clueless, but just in case, she needed an excuse. Also known as yet another lie. Maybe she got into a fight? No, she wouldn't do that. Or possibly just managed to forget her homework too many times? That sounds more realistic.

As she manoeuvred herself through the hallways, she managed to run into MJ, though she wasn't too surprised. The brunette usually spent her time in detention, with the motive of drawing people in distress. Luckily, Gwen had managed to receive on of these drawings after her trip to Washington, MJ had a talent.

"You're in detention? That's suspicious." She stated and walked by the other teens side.

"What can I say, I'm a woman of mystery." Gwen slightly cracked a smile. "But seriously, I feel like this was just a huge misunderstanding." She trailed off, testing her excuse.

"I watched you walk into the bathroom and disappear. Was that a misunderstanding?" Michelle interrogated.

The question made Gwen panic, but she tried to maintain her composure. "Yep, total misunderstanding, you see, I never even left the bathroom. I forgot about Mrs Warrens homework and panicked, so I hid in the stall until her lesson was over. But seriously, please don't tell anyone, it's embarrassing."

"One day I'm gonna figure out what your hiding." MJ tilted her head again, trying to find a new angle on the situation. "Are you going to that lame social gathering tonight to preform stereotypical teenage rituals?" The brunette then asked.

"Homecoming?" Gwen raised a brow, to which MJ nodded. "Yeah, are you?"

"Well, I do enjoy a good observation." She pondered.

"Why don't we go together?" The blonde suggested.

"Just to be clear, we're going as friends, right?"

"Yeah, I've got way too much on my plate, a date would swamp me."

Michelle took a moment to consider the offer, then made her final decision when they reached the door to detention. "You'll pick me up?" Gwen nodded. "Then I'm in."

After their agreement, both girls entered detention with their P.E teacher, who merely looked at Gwen with confusion, she did have a reputation, a boring nerdy type. That's when she saw Peter, sat in the centre of the room, his eyes glued to the screen which would soon play a short video to keep them occupied. He looked sad, depressed even, and he had a right to be, after all, she had left him to deal with the criminals alone. Now she felt guilty.
