Everything was perfect with JeVonte.
Although he did not train her, she still would come to the gym when he was free and work out with him. He worked her hard, but he still showed no mercy. She was able to keep up with him and felt herself gaining muscle.
Then she would spend nights at his place, where he would feed her good healthy food.
Yancy spent so much time with JeVonte, she had not seen her friends since Paris and that was weeks ago. She texted Tamyra, and Facetimed Janelle, and Cassietta was busy with a new man she only talked to her once.
But she was happy and liked the way things were going with JeVonte.
"Hey, what's up with you and your girl, Tamyra? You two never come work out together, everything cool?" JeVonte asked while they tosses a ten-pound medicine ball between them.
"That's my bestie for life, but yeah, she's always busy when I'm ready to work out."
"She was just here earlier before you came and I was wondering."
"Oh," she simply said.
"I thought maybe you two fell out or something the way she was pushing up on me like maybe she didn't know we were together."
"Excuse me!" Yancy dropped the ball with a thud. "She did what?"
She knew she did not hear him right. Not Tamyra, that did not sound like her at all.
"Whoa babe, sorry, no big deal."
"What do you mean no big deal? Did she try and get at you or not? Like flirt, playing around, or serious?"
"Babe, it's nothing, I'm sorry I brought it up."
"JeVonte, tell me what's going on!" her voice raised a bit. A few heads turned to her and the Hazelwood East in her was about to pop off.
"Yan," JeVonte grabbed her arm and walked away with her. They never acted like a couple while they were there because JeVonte did not want other members to get the wrong ideas. He was allowed to date her, but for him, it was all about the image.
Bad enough random women still oggled her man, not her bestie too.
"Yan, okay, maybe it was serious," he said, rubbing a hand across his hair. "But I thought you two weren't friends anymore, that's why she did what she did."
"What did she do?"
He looked down before he looked up at her. "She grabbed my ass and she tried to kiss me."
"What!" she screamed out, and JeVonte pulled her further away from everyone else.
"Babe, I'm sorry, I should have told you right away, but it happened today and I immediately told her no and I would report her if she tried something like that. And she said you were seeing other guys anyway, some guy named Allistar."
Her blood started to boil. That sneaky, slimy, snake! What the hell was she thinking? Not only was she trying to get with her man, she told him about Allistar. Even though she was not seeing that man.
"JeVonte, I am not seeing anyone else."
"I know."
"Allistar is...was my ex-boyfriend, you know, the one I told you about. Ghosted me when he went off to college. Married someone else and dumped me. He did contact me a few weeks ago before we got back together and I...I did sleep with him, but JeVonte...I didn't know I wanted you at the time. That's on me, I messed up."
"Babe, it's okay." He held her in his arms. "We spend every day together, I know you're not like that."
Wow, just like that he believed her. She was worried over nothing.
