She was in love with JeVonte.

She could admit it to herself, but she was not ready to utter those words to him. What if he did not feel the same way? Her first rule of dating was to not fall in love, and here she was.

This was a scary territory for her. The only time she ever told a guy she was in love with him ended in heartache. What if JeVonte was not the man she thought he was?

He could have another side piece, although that was very hard for him to have when all he did was work and stay at home.

Maybe he was addicted to porn. The way he loved sex was like a sex addict. Good thing she loved sex as well and loved having it with him. He had a crazy high sexual appetite and maybe she would not be enough for him.

Or worse, he never agreed with her lifestyle from the beginning. It's like he hated that she had money and he would rather her be poor. He thought she spent too much money and always clenched his jaw when she mentioned spending money on something he saw as frivolous.

She had accepted that he would always take care of his family, and that's where his money went. He made a decent amount of money for his age, yet, turned over more than seventy-five percent of it to his family. She liked that he did that, but at the same time, it left him with nothing.

She could not change that about him, did not want to.

How would they ever work together?

She called Janelle over to her place to hang out and have drinks with her and Cassietta, who came into town to spend some time with her. Cassie was staying at her house, so while there, she was away from JeVonte and missing him.

"Girl, every time I am at your place I think, my girl did that!" Janelle said, touring the house as if it was her first time there. She owned the house for three years, and Janelle was always up in there. "I need to step my game up with the ballers and get one to buy me a crib like this."

Cassie rolled her eyes at her. "Or you could get a job."

"Or you could too!" Janelle snapped at her.

The way those two argued it's like they wanted to get together or something. She knew Cassietta was very bi, but she was unaware if Janelle ever dipped to the other side.

"Do you think this house is too much? You know, for just me?" she asked them.

"Nope," Cassietta stated.

"I would be lonely as hell up in here. You need a roommate?" Janelle asked.

Why did she need a house so huge when she was the only one in it? She had yet to invite JeVonte, and did not want to because of course he would judge her for it. His family was scraping by in their small house. He house sat a mansion. This was the in-between house, but it was still over the top.

"Am I over the top with my money?"

"Girl, you earned it, do what you want with it," Cassietta said.

"And I agree," Janelle chimed in. "Is this about the poor guy you're dating?"

"He's not poor," she defended. "He just chooses to give the bulk of his money to his family. I think it's charming."

"The hell? He's single, has no kids, he should not be taking care of anyone but himself, himself and that's it."

"Kind of like your parents take care of you?" Janelle said sarcastically.

"Oh, so very jealous darling," Cassietta said with a smile at her.

"You two just need to kiss and smash or something," Yancy said to them. "Sheesh!"

The two looked at each other, said nothing, and she kept it moving. So there was tension between the two. She would ignore it until they fessed up.
