"Tell me more, about your parents."
"They're great. I like taking care of them because they took care of me. They depend on me a lot, as the oldest."
Still, it was a lot, to be twenty-seven and taking care of his whole family. She gave it up to him for that. For many people his age or younger, the first chance they got they run off and lived their life, not thinking to spend their hard-earned money on their parents.
"You sound like you are all close."
"Very." He leaned over and planted a kiss on her lips. "Sorry, I wanted to kiss you."
"Never apologize for blessing me with those luscious lips."
He laughed at her. "I like this, us talking, getting to know me. I had a great childhood. Nothing I am ashamed of growing up poor. I made it to college. I finished college. I make good money Yancy, but maybe not as much as you. I don't like being judged about how I choose to spend my money."
"Understood." She squeezed him in a hug. "At the same time, don't judge me about my money, how much I have, and what I choose to do with it."
"I'm sorry I called you a rich bitch snob."
She elbowed him. "Twice!"
"You are different than a lot of the women I meet at the gym. It's like I'm meat candy to them. Offers to pay me to ...more than train them. Do you know the number of offers I get from women there? Old women, white women, Black women, married women."
As fine as he was, walking around with a body like that, she believed it.
"How many have you taken up on it?"
"None. As I said, I'm more than a pretty face. And women can be harassers too. I had to report one woman because she was relentless. Touching me inappropriately. I didn't want to report it, but when Jess and Troy, my clients that live here, actually saw her do it, they reported it, then I had to. She was banned from the club."
"Oh my!"
"I can't imagine how the female trainers get it We had to have a class on it, all the I employees. Turns out, several of the workers were getting the same from the same woman."
"Oh wow."
"Anyway, enough of my messed up life." He gave her another kiss. "Tell me more about what you do."
"Flip houses."
"Don't say it so simply as that, I know it entails more than that. You make good money from it, right."
"Yes. I do pretty well."
"How did you decide that's what you wanted to do?"
She shrugged. "Wasn't the plan when I attended college. When my parents died and left me the house, and their insurance policy, I just wanted to fix the house up and sell it. Didn't realize I could make a nice profit from it. So I bought another house and did the same thing. Pretty soon, I was making good money and making it into a business."
"You have offices and employees?"
She laughed at him. "Heck no! I have a home office and hire contractors. It's worked for me so far."
"Still a lot of work. Should you have a secretary or assistant or something?"
"If I wanted to expand even more, maybe." She never thought she would become a multi-million dollar entity. "I am thinking of branching out to other properties, but that is still in the works."
"You're very smart, and determined. I think you will become even more successful."
Damn, this man was perfect. She leaned over and full-on kissed him.
