Luz POV
I heard a big boom very close to the house. I looked out of the window that was in my room and saw smoke rising from the ground into the sky.
"Eda, did you hear that!?" I yelled
"How could anyone NOT hear that Luz" Eda yelled back.
As I walked down stairs I saw Hoot and Eda talking while King came running up and clinged to my leg.
"I think we should investigate" I blurted
"Are you sure about that Luz? I mean for all we know it could be a monster" King whimpered
“I think King's right Luz, I mean this is the boiling isles monsters are kind of a common thing to see” Eda said
“It could be someone in trouble Eda, and if it is I want to help” I said stubbornly
“Alright let's go” Eda said
“Yay, I get to make a new friend!” Hooty yelled in excitement
"Hooty thats not what we're going for" Eda said
After hearing that Hoot drooped
Eda, King, Hooty and I all walked through the woods
As we came closer to the smoke, I realized that I couldn't see much through it.
Eda made a circle of magic and got rid of most of the smoke blocking the way.
As the smoke clear I saw something lying on the ground, I cautiously walked over
{Blood warning}
As I got closer I realized that it was a person. They looked roughly around my age, maybe a little older, they wore a mask hiding their face and hair covering one of their eyes.
The person was badly injured, they laid in a pool of their own blood,
blood ran down their face, a big gash on the stomach, blood slowly pooling out of it staining the clothes crimson, ripped and torn clothes, debris stuck into their hair.
As I took a step closer I heard growling, as I looked closer to the injured person I saw a palisman growling at me, as though warning me to stay away or bad things will happen.
Eda and King soon joined me realizing that I was okay
“Ew, what kind of monster is that” King said
“Its not a monster King its a person, as I told you” I verified
“That looks bad…” Eda said
“We should help them Eda,”
“I think you're right Luz, they look pretty beat up”
“Wait, isn't that the witch that escaped from petrification the other day?” King said
“Now that you mention it”
I walked closer with the palismans' growling getting more aggressive
“I don't want to hurt them, I just want to help” I said as I reached my hand out.
The palisman arched their back and growled again
“Owlbert, reassure them” Eda ordered
Owlbert flew over to the wolf palisman however it seemed to be even more wary
The Wolf backed up growling at Owlbert
As the three of us got closer to the person the wolf ran up and tired to jump on Eda however she made a circle of magic which made the palisman fall asleep
“Let's take a closer look at them” Eda announced
“Their mask is torn to shreds” King observed
The persons face was covered in both dried and wet blood but the face was still recognizable.
I took a closer look at the person and realized who it was
“Wait I know who this is”
“Y/N?!” I yelled in surprise
