Sorry for the long break but I'm back with another controversial chapter!!
. . .
You stood on a ship with your friends and Master Pakku, along with two other Water Tribe members. Pakku held up a flask and offered it to Katara.
"Katara, I want you to have this," he said. "This amulet contains water from the Spirit Oasis. The water has unique properties. Don't lose it."
Katara accepted the amulet and hugged the man. "Thank you, Master Pakku."
Pakku handed Aang a box of scrolls. "Aang, these scrolls will help you master waterbending. But remember, they're no substitute for a real master. Sokka..." Pakku patted him on the shoulder, leaving him dismayed. "Take care, son. And Y/n..." The old man turned to you, and you stared at each other for a long moment. "Look out for them. And try not to die."
You bowed, and it was only slightly less sarcastic than before. "I will do my best."
Pakku turned to address all of you whilst pointing to the ahead. "Fly straight to the Earth Kingdom base to the east of here. General Fong will provide you with an escort to Omashu. There, you will be safe to begin your earthbending training with King Bumi."
Aang nodded, then he flicked the reins. "Appa, yip yip!"
Katara waved to Pakku as you flew away. "Say hi to Gran-Gran for me!"
. . .
After a long flight and an even longer debate about something or other, you finally arrived in the Earth Kingdom. As you landed, General Fong and several of his soldiers were already waiting.
"Welcome, Avatar Aang!" Fong greeted. "I am General Fong, and welcome, to all of you great heroes! Appa, Momo, brave Sokka, the mighty Katara..."
"Mighty Katara?" the waterbender repeated, pleased. "I like that."
You smiled in agreement. "It suits you."
Fong finally turned his gaze to you. "And I believe you are Y/n. The... firebender, correct?"
Your smile fell as you clenched your jaw. You didn't like where this was going. "Yes. That's right."
"Is that going to be a problem?" Sokka asked, crossing his arms as he looked up at the man.
Fong smiled, but there was something unsettling about it. "Not at all. Pakku is not an easy man to impress, and if you've managed to earn his respect, then you have ours too."
You eyed him sceptically... then you nodded slowly. "...Thank you."
"And I hear you also helped the Avatar take out several Fire Nation ships at the North Pole. That is quite impressive."
"Yeah, well... I didn't really do much." You shrugged dismissively. "I took out a few ships but Aang dealt with the rest."
"Yes, we were all amazed at the stories of how Avatar Aang wiped out an entire Fire Navy fleet at the North Pole," Fong said, turning to the airbender. "I can't imagine what it feels like to wield such devastating power. It's an awesome responsibility."
Aang shrugged, looking sheepish. "I try not to think about it too much."
"Avatar, you're ready to face the Fire Lord now," General Fong said calmly. You all looked at him in shock.
"What? No I'm not!" Aang denied.
"Aang still needs to master all four elements," Katara reasoned and you nodded in agreement.
