"So!" Sokka began dramatically as he retold his 'epic' story. "There we were, in the middle of the night..."

"It was day," Katara corrected boredly, eating her breakfast. She sat opposite her brother at the campfire, completely uninterested in his tale whilst Aang listened eagerly. You stood off to the side, leaning against a nearby tree trunk.

"We were surrounded by polar bears..." he continued, ignoring his sister's comment.

"They were seals," Katara chimed in again, taking a sip from her waterskin.

"Ten of them!"

"Two of them."

"But they were no match... and in the end I took them down with my trusty boomerang and spear and we had a week-long supply of seal jerky!" Sokka finished proudly, smiling.

"The seals chased him around for ten minutes whilst he ran around in circles and screamed like a little girl," Katara said plainly, packing up your supplies.

Sokka pouted at his sister. "Do you always have to ruin my stories?"

"Ooh, that reminds me of the time I was in the Earth Kingdom and there were these pygmy pumas that-" Aang started excitedly, only for you to cut him off.

"Don't we have better things to be doing than sharing fairy tales?" you demanded impatiently. The team all turned to look at you. "Like, I don't know, fighting the Fire Nation?"

"Hey, it's not a fairy tale, it's a true story!" Aang protested. "Well, mine is anyway. Sokka's sounds a little far-fetched..."

"It is not far-fetched! I could totally take two seals!" Sokka shouted, crossing his arms. "And we can't fight all the time. Great warriors need lunch breaks... and breakfast breaks... and dinner breaks... and general snack breaks..."

"We're cutting down on the breaks!" you shouted angrily. You rubbed your temples, frustrated. "We can't afford to waste time like this every day. The Fire Nation are still-"

"We haven't forgotten, Y/n," Katara said, rolling up her sleeping bag. "Taking a few hours to eat and rest every day will do us more good than charging into battle with empty stomachs and tired brains. Plus, Appa needs a break from flying too."

"That bison always needs a break!" you yelled, throwing your hands up angrily. Appa just yawned and you stuck your tongue out at him.

"Hey, don't talk to Appa like that," Aang said, rubbing his pet's head. "It's not easy carrying four people on your back everyday is it, buddy?" Appa growled in response. "Don't worry, bud, I appreciate you..."

You gripped your hair and groaned in frustration, hitting your head against the tree trunk repeatedly. Maybe if you hit it enough times, you'd die.

"Come on, Y/n, would it kill you to relax, just for a second?" Sokka asked, slightly amused by the scene.

You stopped whacking your head against the tree to glare at him. "Yes. And considering we're on the run from the Fire Nation who could ambush us at any moment, I think it would kill you too."

"I'll take that risk. Come and chill with us."

"I will 'chill' when this war is won and we are no longer under threat of being burnt to a crisp," you grumbled, starting to walk away. "If you three are going to sit around uselessly until you turn into trees, then I'm going to check out the market."

"That's not a bad idea," Katara said, standing up to join you. "We could do with some more supplies."

"I'll come with you," Aang said, jumping to his feet with a smile. "Maybe they'll have some treats to re-energise Appa."
