The Carmichael Sunshine

Introduction

HI! Welcome!! Thanks for being here! I am still very new to Wattpad. I've been writing stories for as long as I can remember. This is the first time I'm really sharing any of my work. Comments and ideas are welcomed. I DO have a full draft of this story. As of now, this is the last of the series. However, I do have some spin-off ideas started/ in my head and maybe even a second generation series. ;)

If you've read the first three books on here (The Murphy Rose, The Murphy Princess, The Carmichael Angel), this is Connor and Ava's story. We have a very small time jump in this book compared to the last. This story takes place 2 years after the events of The Carmichael Angel. Out of all of the stories, this one is the most easy to read as a stand-alone as Ava and Connor are both sort of 'outsiders.'

Please note: You absolutely DO NOT have to read the first two books to enjoy this one, but you'd probably get more out of the story and characters if you do :)

Boy, did I fall for Connor as I was writing him. He was kind of like Finn Murphy but more unhinged. I didn't want to like him. Especially when he was first introduced in Finn and Kailey's story. But then he goes and helps save Kailey. And we never really know Connor's intentions.

It was important to me to not just write him as this gratuitous bad guy in Brenna's book. I wanted her to have a rekindled bond with her oldest brother. We really get to see Connor's love for his youngest sister despite never being loved themselves by their parents. We see Connor has struggled too, like Brenna, but in different ways.

I just knew I had to write his story, too.

Then it became my favorite of the entire series.

Ava Morales is used to fighting, working, and being alone. She is an only child who lost her mom at a young age and is supporting her sick father in his assisted living home. She works two jobs to make it by and she is extremely loyal to her father and morals. Ava is my sunshine girl. She lives by her motto, "Calm. Collected. Positive." Which is the opposite of Connor Carmichael in every way.

I loved writing it. I love both Ava and Connor very deeply. They really understand each other. Connor is so emotionally stunted, and Ava is this absolute force that just comes through and pummels down each and every wall he puts up. She's so attuned to her feelings which we don't always get to see in romance stories. Ava is both strong and vulnerable.

TW: This story does contain explicit sexual content, heavy themes of abuse, drug use, violence, sexual assault, kidnapping, and heavy language. Ava's father also has Alzheimer's disease, which I know is such a sensitive and upsetting topic, so wanted to make you aware of that. Please note this story is for mature audiences only! Take care of yourselves first and foremost.

Please also note: There are some phrases in Russian and Spanish that I hope I got correct - I used the internet as my translator so I truly apologize if I got anything wrong! The downside of not having editors. Thanks for understanding.
