"Damn it!" I say in annoyance, hitting the steering wheel before giving a sigh

My paw has finally stopped sorrowing but . . . I hate this

I hop down from my nonfunctioning truck and take a quick look around. The heavy fog that seems to come from the nearby trees surrounds the area, covering the few houses that can be seen around

A not too big building, with a big sign over the big entrance, 'Library'. Vines crawl up the slightly cracked walls, spider webs decorating the border of the old dusty windows and bushes that need a trim before they take over the road

An empty house, decorated the same way the library is. With spider webs hanging on many walls, dusty surfaces and small holes in some walls

An abandoned gas station with a small store next to it, the shelves inside the store are completely empty, only a few newspapers on the floor with the date of 7 years ago and tourists' maps

Maybe I'm not too far away to walk back. . .

I open one of the dusty maps and start looking around, but there was no sign of a shore of any kind. Only some green zones, a brown zone, something grey that looked like a range of mountains and a dark green zone

No existence of a place called Adventure Bay

I close it with a sigh before quickly starting to rip it apart. My breath pace started accelerating as I grabbed another one to do the same thing.

And another one

And another one, until I finally ripped them all

Tears slowly begin to roll down my cheeks as I hit the ground.

Why. . . just . . . why

"Hey!"

I hear someone shout behind me, but I don't bother to turn around

"Hey, you!"

"What do you want?" I reply, slowly rising my head

And I hear a growl, "This is our spot, prick. And you can forget about that fancy truck of yours. Walk away and we might let you live"

Someone else growls as well, and I hear a click

Slowly I turn around to see three dogs. The smallest one holding a knife, and the other two staring at me as they continue growling

"Oh? You are not leaving? Well, It's been so long since we had someone around here. So, why don't we have some fun ey boys?" The biggest one says as he grins

The other two laugh in almost unison. And they begin to approach me.

I just stare at them as they slowly surround me. But, I'm not afraid. . . Why am I not afraid?

I just. . . don't feel anything. . .

at least not anymore

"Dude, what the heck happened here?!" Another dog shouts as he bursts through the store's door

"I-It's. . .I-It's that b-blood?" He points at me

I take a look at my paws. They were indeed covered in blood, as well as some parts of my chest and my face. Then I look back up
