Ryder just spent the rest of the day trying to explain to me everything about the place, and by everything, I mean Every. Single. Detail.
Turns out the 'Tower' has a name, The Lookout. He talked about how he wanted the town to look. He did get a little upset when I asked about his family. And Chase taught me how to use the Pup-tag and some unnecessary stuff, like some self-defence moves and how to read body language.
There's even a basement, underground.
"And you will have your own pup house" He says stepping out of the elevator, me right behind him.
"Thank you Ryder, you are the best"
He didn't say anything, just chuckled.
I really meant it when I said it.
There were 4 pup houses. One was Yellow and black coloured. The other one was Orange and blue. There was another one with a dull grey colour, which seemed unpainted to me. And a red one.
I could easily tell the red one was mine because the colours were the same ones as my suit and helmet.
It didn't seem heavy because Ryder easily carried it all the way outside the Lookout tower.
"Tomorrow look for me inside the tower so I can assign you your very first mission" He firmly orders, placing the pup house on the ground.
"Thank's again Ryder" I say, this time placing my paw on top of his shoe.
Ryder chuckles, placing his hand on my head "Have a good rest Marshall"
I quickly take a glance at the interior of the pup house. The interior had a more silverish tone and it was warm. It reminds me of my 'Fragile' box, a little bigger but the same shape.
Everything is happening so fast, it's making my tummy sick.
That night I didn't sleep too well.
The next day I wake up with my heart racing and a few sweat drops rolling down my face.
I quickly put my fireman suit and helmet on and make my way inside the tower.
Few boxes were unpacked and others were spread around everywhere.
"Ryder?" I call, no one answered.
I hop on the elevator, hoping to find him on the next floor.
I heard them - Ryder and Chase - murmuring as the elevators doors opened.
"Morning" I exclaim.
Ryder quickly glances at me, Chase didn't bother turning around. He softly whispers something at Chase before smiling at me "Good Morning. You ready for your first mission?"
"I guess?" I reply, sitting down right in front of him.
Chase just waves at me, he then heads to the pile of boxes, probably to unpack them.
"For your first mission you will need to find more members for our patrol" He says, quickly putting a hand on his pocket.
"What do you mean?" I ask, a little confused
He takes a paper from his pocket "Here I got you some suggestions for new recruits"
He hands me the paper. "Hard worker, adventurous, creative, brave and smart" I read.
Nice suggestions you got there Ryder
"Just find someone who might have a great potential and bring them here" He adds.
