~Long Walks on the Beach Pt. 2~

Kofuyu lay flat on her stomach, while Haruhi sat on a beach towel right beside hers. The two girls were sitting in silence, but the others that surrounded them laughed, talked, and joked.

"I thought going to the beach met having a day off," complained Haruhi. She was watching the third-years interact with their guests.

"Guess we weren't that lucky this time," mumbled Kofuyu half-heartedly. Her upper half was propped up on her elbows, and a magazine rested open in front of her.

"You don't even care, do you?" Haruhi asked even though she already knew the answer.

"It's all the same to me," Kofuyu answered and flipped the page. A group of girls approached and began talking to Haruhi.

"Aren't you going to go swimming with us?" One of the girls asked. Kofuyu went back to putting her focus on the magazine in front of her.

"No, uh, I like looking at the sea from a safe distance," answered Haruhi.

"Well, if you're not going to swim, would you mind if we sat here and talked with you?" another one of the girls asked. Kofuyu bit back her scoff. She was trying to avoid her responsibilities as the host club assistant, and if they joined, she would undoubtedly be forced out of her break.

"But why? You girls should go swimming. You've got cute swimsuits on, so why not show them off?" Haruhi suggested. The guests sighed dreamily in response, and Kofuyu shook her head. She was surprised at how unknowingly charismatic Haruhi was.

The guest rushed off, leaving the girls on their own, and Haruhi went back to staring off toward the ocean. That was until an inflatable beach ball rolled over to them.

"I can't believe he fooled us," Hikaru complained as he picked the ball up.

"Who'd have thought he'd bring the ladies with us," Kaoru agreed.

"We certainly didn't expect it," Hikaru said to both of the girls. "Kofuyu, do you have anything to say about this?"

"Why are you asking me?" Kofuyu questioned defensively.

"You have a thing for the guy that planned this all. You would know if this was going to happen, wouldn't you?"

"I do not, I did know, and I didn't think it was going to be a big deal," Kofuyu spoke flatly.

"You were invited on this all-expenses-paid vacation for a reason, and that is to keep our clients entertained," Kyoya reminded.

"We know, but with the ladies here..." Hikaru trailed off.

"Haruhi can't change into her swimsuit," finished Kaoru. Kofuyu rolled her eyes and then moved her gaze back to the magazine.

"Don't worry. I got it all under control. My little angel shouldn't be prancing around in her swimsuit. At least, not in front of two perverts like you." Kofuyu wasn't looking at him, but she could still tell he was having one of his weird fantasies.

"It'll happen just like that! The greatest day of my life. I don't know if I can handle it!" Tamaki squirmed in his seat. Kofuyu didn't know what he was talking about, and she didn't really want to know.

"I'm going to take a walk," Haruhi mumbled before standing up and leaving. She wanted to put some distance between her and Tamaki when he got like this.

Kofuyu didn't reply. She was busy reading an article about some J-pop idol that barely caught her interest. Hikaru and Kaoru left to rejoin the guests they were most recently talking to. Kofuyu sighed and sat up. After a while of being on her stomach and elbows, her shoulders were beginning to ache.
