Sin Her
Misogyny breathes through religion,
Exhaled by father, inhaled by son,
For generations past and generations to come,
Since Lilith was demonised for man's misdeeds,
Since the forbidden fruit condemned Eve,
Since there had to be divine intervention for maiden Mary to conceive.
Now venom passes Adam's apple whenever a man speaks,
And his serpent tongue spits the word succubus,
But wasn't mistrust created by Judas
With a poisonous kiss upon a cheek?
And wasn't violence forged by Cain
With blood from a brother he would not keep?
The sweetest rose was damned a crown of thorns,
And somewhere along the way "Honor thy mother" was lost.
Witches were crucified for complex thought.
A woman could not learn what a man was taught.
And her petite mort is lustful and ungodly greed,
But he is not pleading for prayer as he pushes you down to your knees.
And I will never call a man Father, a title not one has earned,
Until a wife is more in the eyes of the church.
Man-made faith subsists through chauvinism.
And every woman has been sentenced to eternal damnation.
Abomination born from archaic belief,
Know that there is no Hell without He.
