#AMAHLE
The drive to Mthatha was a very nice one. Iya was sleeping but the twins kept me company, they were telling me all sorts of stories about school and everything else I missed in their lives in the few hours we were apart. Mom called asking my whereabouts and I told her we had just left Kokstad of which we stopped at Wimpy and had a late lunch and got back on the road. While driving I was driving my phone rang and Iya who was now awake answered it
//Her: Mommy's phone hello
Person:.....
Her: ok hold on
Her: mommy it's for you
Me: who is it?
Her: she just said can she talk to you
I took the phone from her.
Me: Amahle speaking how may I help you?
Person: why so formal?
I checked the screen and the number was private but the voice sounded like that of woman.
Me: excuse me who's this?
Her: Don't tell me you've forgotten me already.
Me: I wouldn't be asking If I knew
Her: its Cecilia... remember me?
Of cause it could only be her
Me: oh you. What do you want?
Her: now that's not a nice way to speak to someone you haven't seen in ages
Me: you and I were never friends so I can speak however I like with you
Her: you so rude. I don't know what Damon sees in you
Me: Cecilia what do you want?
Her: nothing. I just miss you that's all
Me: I'm flattered
Her: I'm sure you are. You made a mistake Mrs Bess
Me: with?
Her: Mr Mathabo. He is not someone you want to mess with
Me: and you would know
Her: call me when you back in Durban. You and I need to have a little chat Mrs Bess
Me: yeah right. Bye Cecilia
Her: Amahle if you want to keep your family safe, you will meet with me when you back
Me: why do you care Cecilia?
Her: believe it or not I care about your family
Me: why?
Her: just meet up with me when you back please!
Me: bye Cecilia. //
I dropped the call and placed my phone on the cup holder between Yana and I's seats.
Her: mummy who was that?
Me: nobody important baby
Her: ok mummy.
I looked at the twins in the rear view mirror.
Me: so Melo you were saying
Him: oh yeah as I was saying today this girl in class said she has two mothers
Me: oh... that's nice
Ase: she says she doesn't have a father. Her mothers are married to each other mom
Was I really about to have this conversation with my 5 year olds... I wasn't ready to teach my kids about lesbians and gays. They are way too young to be learning about this. Iyana looked at me and started laughing
