Chapter 27: Ideas of Pressure

Me and Gordon were standing in one place while all the adults were talking and interacting. Why you ask? Well, today is Gordon's family's summer barbecue and we are bored as hell. Ven is with Dani and Rosemary, they said that they were already near... 25 minutes ago. I guess the saying that girls take a LOOONG time to get ready is true.

"Dude, do you have any idea where are they?" Gordon took a sip of his soda.
"No, but they said they are like coming already..." Someone then called out for Gordon.
"Hey, I'll be right back." He went to his dad. After a while, Ven came in with Dani. They both saw me and Ven just waved at me like crazy.
"Hey Will." Ven greeted me.
"Yeah hi." I just smiled at Dani and she waved back. Gordon came back and saw that they were here.
"Hey guys... Where's Rosemary?" Gordon said to Dani.
"She's sick so she couldn't come." Gordon looked disappointed.
"Oh, bummer..." He looked down at his cup. "I'll need to go help my dad at the grill." He went over to his dad.
"So, that was weird..." Ven stated.
"Yeah, I'm going to go you know..." Dani said pointing to the food laid out on the table.
"Yeah..." Dani then went over there and was greeted by some of the neighbors.
"So Will... I heard that you and Dani have been hanging out a lot." Ven nudged me on the arm.
"What? Where have you heard that?" I then laughed awkwardly. Ven just smirked at me.
"Will, you guys are left alone a lot. We're watching..." She slowly backed away and disappeared. She's so weird. Suddenly, I hear a woman screaming at the top of her lungs. Everyone was then running and it was chaos before you knew it. Gordon was then running to me.
"Dude!" He called out for me.
"What's happening?" He dragged me out to the curb.
"I don't know why people are panicking so much, it's just a gas leak." He looked back at people running and screaming.
"A gas leak? It still kind of dangerous Gordon."
"Well, people are just too dramatic." He said. "Anyways, you should go home now. Your sister and Danica went to your house. So, you don't have to worry about your other half and your girlfriend..." He mocked me. I punched him on the arm and went off.
"Whatever, bye!" I went directly to our house. I wonder why she went to our house?

Danica

"Since when did your voice got lower?" Ven and I were in her room. She was hugging a butterfly pillow and I was just looking at her.
"Ever since that fire in the chemistry lab..." She stated.
"Whatever, you didn't have to scream about a little gas leak..." I stood up and looked out the window.
"I just panicked okay?" She went to her vanity and brushed her hair. "Who are you waiting for?" She smirked at me.
"No one..." I said blankly.
"Is it Will?" She giggled. "Your boyfriend?..." She giggled even louder. No, she laughed like crazy.
"Wow, no..." I just shook my head. She stayed quiet for a while, she was just staring at herself in the mirror as she smoothens her hair.
"Dani?" She put down her hair brush. "Why do you like my brother?" She looked at me like an innocent, curious girl. I never thought she'll ask that. I just paused and looked at her. Why do I like Will?
"Why do you?..." Ven asked again. I just smiled and sat down beside her.
"Well first, I'm really fascinated about his intelligence and his witts." I played with Ven's hair.
"He may be dorky but, I find that about him adorable..." I was braiding Ven's hair.
"I also find him cute and funny and confident and brave. Well, most of the time he's brave." Ven laughed at my remark. "
"Most of all, he understands me. He doesn't mind my idiosyncrasies and the way I tend to smile like crazy at the littlest of things. I can't believe that he's able to handle someone like me..." I started to get tears eyes about what I'm saying. Glob, I'm so weird. I finish off Ven's braid with a small ponytail.
"So, what are you saying Dani?" Ven turns and smiles at me. I look down at my shoes and smile.
"I'm saying that, I'm in love with him Ven." She smiles and hugs me. I think I am really, crazy in love with Will...
"Dani..." Ven says.
"Yeah?"
"I'm glad that you like my other brother..."
