A set of eyes stared at the boiling sun. An abomination caravan was passing through the decay left by The Collector's rampage. Edalyn Clawthorne, Head of the Survivors, stared into the distance with worry. " Commander, the patient is waiting for you," told a former Healing coven member.
" Raine," Eda called out as Raine Whispers turned around from their bed.
" You're back," Raine said with joy.
" How are you, feeling better, ?"
Edalyn asked. Raine holds their hand out, as Eda grasps on with her prosthetic abomination hand.
" I'm fine, you don't have to worry about me," Raine answered.
" Don't tell me not to worry. It's been months and you've barely gotten better. The others have already finished healing, but you're struggling so much. And none of the healers know why, so don't tell me not to worry."
"Eda, you know you're a terrible liar. This isn't about me." Raine said in a weak but cheeky voice.
" I can tell there's something else on your mind. What is it? "
"It's nothing, you just focus on getting better, ok " Eda replied while getting ready to leave.
" Wait, come on Eda, please tell me. If you don't tell me then you won't tell anyone. You'll just keep it bottled up inside."
Edalyn sat back on the stool staring at the ground with worry in her eyes and voice " It's, it's just been weeks, and there hasn't been any sign of Luz or King, anywhere. I'm just really scared. I've always been there to protect them. There hasn't been any sight of Luz's friends, or girlfriend, either. And they're the last witches to have seen Luz, and King. What if they're?" Eda finished with great fear in her voice.
" Eda, you shouldn't think like that, your kids are strong, just like you. I'm sure they're together and safe waiting for you to find them. Don't lose hope." Raine answered while grasping Eda's hand once again.
" You think so? Ugh, I just wish there was a way to find out where they are?" Eda said, attempting to stop tearing up.
"It's been months, and I've found absolutely nothing. Just a single sign to let me know if they're alive would be enough, and I'd find them."
" I might be able to help with that." Raine mysteriously replied.
