I don't want to be found just yet! I want to be alone!

Pabalik-balik ang lakad ko sa loob ng villa, natataranta at hindi na makapag-isip ng maayos.

I certainly am not in the right state to leave but I made my decision. Gusto kong mapag-isa at hindi ko iyon makakamit kung mahahanap lang din ako ni Rex Niccolo. I'm a hundred percent sure it won't be hard for him to locate me. Heck, he can just make calls and I'm doomed.

I stopped on my tracks when somebody knocked on my door. Nagpa-panic man ay nakuha ko pa ring buksan iyon.

"Tawag po para sa inyo, Miss Vallejo," bungad ng isang staff.

"Who's that?" 'Cause I swear to God if that's Rex Niccolo, I'll lose my mind altogether now.

"Sir Mikael Vallejo po. Hindi raw po kayo sumasagot."

I sighed a relief. I glanced at the phone I threw away when I realized. Nakapatay na iyon at wala akong balak na buksan pa. Kuya Mikael can't reach me so he called the admin already.

I nervously asked for the phone. Napansin ng staff ang panginginig ko kaya hindi rin nakatakas sa akin ang ekspresyon niya na may bahagyang pag-aalala.

"Thank you. I'll take this call."

"Are you okay, Miss?"

"I'm fine," wala sa hulog kong sagot. Mukhang hindi naman siya nakumbinsi pero hindi ko na problema iyon. Umalis na lang siya at nagbilin na kung may kailangan ako ay tumawag lang sa kanila.

"Hey. Rex called me. You're panicking now, aren't you? Don't be," si Kuya sa kabilang linya.

"Do you expect me to be calm? Kuya, I need to leave this place! Before this day ends, Rex Niccolo will be here! I know it!"

God, I hope he's reading into my desperation. Mababaliw na yata ako!

"He won't. I'm the only one in the family who knows you're there. Just stay put," ani Kuya sa kalmadong paraan.

"Yeah, in the family! Nakakalimutan mo yata ang linya ng trabaho ng pinakamatalik na kaibigan ni Rex Niccolo. One call to Devin and a few minutes later, Devin will know I'm here and in return, Rex as well!"

"That's why I asked Devin not to help him. I'm two steps ahead of you, Bob. Huwag kang mag-alala."

I fought the urge to roll my eyes so bad at his reason.

"You really think Devin's loyalty is to you?"

Niloloko lang ba ako ng kapatid ko? Two steps ahead, my ass.

"No but I expect he'll delay Rex a little. Devin's a good guy. I told him you wanted to be alone for a while so I'm sure he'll honor that request. Hindi mo kailangang umalis diyan. At saan ka naman pupunta kung ganoon? Do you know how to maneuver a boat? Because I'm telling you now, nobody in that island will let you leave."

My panic just grew bigger. I feel like I'm confined here and it's making me really anxious.

"Bob, worry about things one at a time, alright? You have a problem with yourself, figure that out first."

"Kuya—"

"I'm not going to pretend to know what it's like being in your shoes right now but what I can tell you is that you matter. To me, to Nikko, to our parents, and to Rex, most especially. He's the most patient with you so I know he'll understand what you're going through."
