"I wasn't in the shadows - that's creepy."

I'm sorry for the delay in updates, i've been really busy with Uni at the moment, it's the end of the first semester of my last year so... I've been super busy but I'm trying, I promise. I'm so thankful for all of your support and the votes and the comments mean so much to me.

I've also been spending my free time re-writing the first book in this series - so... Love you all!

A couple of days after the kiss

"Are you joking?", Olivia laughed.

Phoebe took a sip of her red wine and shook her head. "I wish I could say that I was. You should have seen the look on his face.", She glanced towards Liam who was stood with Adam, talking about something that didn't reach her ears.

Brett's wife ran a hand through her hair. "I can imagine it.", She took a sip of her own drink, non-alcoholic of course.

"I need to tell you something, and you can't say anything.", Adam hummed, making sure that no one was listening into their conversation. His gaze searched the room, Brett wasn't here yet - he had business to attend too.

Liam raised a brow, tucking one hand into his jeans pockets, the other holding his bottle of beer. He watched his friend carefully. "I know that look.", He replied, cocking a brow. "That look was the same kind of look you gave me when you realised you'd shot one of our own men in our second war.", Liam smirked, teasing him.

Adam chuckled at that. "He aimed at me?!", He resorted, defending himself.

"So what have you fucked up now?", Liam finally got to the point.

He ran a hand over his face, his stubble more prominent now. He hadn't shaven since he'd kissed his student two days ago. He'd taught his lessons - but her and Lewis hadn't been showing up. Adam wasn't sure how to say this, without just saying it. He needed to ease his friend into this.

He had to give it a go. "You know Kaitlin?", Adam took a swig of his beer.

Liam nodded. "I know of her, and I saw her in Asda that one time, yeah.", He waited, watched as his mate had swallowed the largest gulp of beer he'd ever witnessed. "What the fuck have you done?", he asked under his breathe.

"I haven't done anything wrong, man. I'm not her teacher.", Adam began before even telling Liam what had happened.

"You fucked her?", Liam's eyes widened, he looked as if he'd seen an actual ghost.

Adam shook his head, his own expression mirroring Liam's. "What? Fuck no.", He sighed. "I, uh, I might have kissed her.", He looked in pain.

Liam went silent.

Adam waited.

"You're a fucking fool.", Liam finally said.

Adam scoffed at that response, but agreed. "Yeah.", He nods, shoving his own hand into his jeans pocket, his other hand holding his beer, the same as Liam.

Liam glanced across at Phoebe and his son, and Olivia, thinking some more. Adam followed his gaze, and then looked back at his friend.

The men stood in silence for a few more moments. Liam watching Phoebe and his son. Adam watching Liam. The silence was killing Adam - it was too long. He needed his friend to say something, he needed anything. "She knows my name.", Adam decided to add.

Liam shot his eyes back at Adam. "What?!", He looked more surprised at that, than the kiss itself.

"I told her my fucking name.", Adam groaned, head throwing back. "Fuck," He cursed.
