Kaitlin and Jasmine had been at the party for a couple of hours now, but instead of trying to talk to boys, they'd stuck to one another. The night had been so much more pleasant that way.

"So, you heard from him yet?" Jasmine slurred a little. They both knew who him was, but instead of him, Kaitlin had been thinking of Christian - well, Adam.

Kaitlin shook her head. "I'm so done with him." She admits, slurring much less than Jasmine. Jasmine rolled her eyes at that. She'd heard it one too many times. I'm so done with him, her friend had said many times before, and still went back.

Jasmine sighed. "I'd believe you but the track record sadly, doesn't allow that." She jokes, nudging her friend on the arm.

Kaitlin laughed, nodding. She understood why her friend wouldn't believe her, but her friend also didn't know about Adam. She didn't need her fuck buddy anymore, she had someone who actually liked her.

And with that thought, she wanted to tell Jasmine. She wanted her friend to know that she'd kissed her professor.

But, was it the right thing to do?

"I kissed Christian." She shot out before she gave her brain the chance to decide whether it was the right thing to do. Kissing her professor had also not been the right thing to do, but she'd done that anyway.

Jasmines eyes widened. "That hot English teacher that you met up with the other day?" Her slurs had seemingly vanished. The news had apparently shocked her back into being sober.

Kaitlin nodded, shaking her head at herself. She wouldn't tell Jasmine about his real name, that felt too.... personal.

"Yeah." Kaitlin muttered, finishing her glass of vodka and coke.

Jasmine stared at her friend from the side. "How? Like... Did he kiss you? Did you kiss him?" She asked, running a hand through her hair.

And just before Kaitlin had the chance to respond, the door of the party bursted open so loud that it hit the wall behind it.  Everyone glanced up at the man in question, and Kaitlin and Jasmines eyes widened in surprise.

"Although parties and drinking are legal. The drugs - are not - and someone in the next building complex phoned the police about a noise complaint so, if you don't fancy spending the next 72 hours in a jail cell, I suggested you get your feet moving and go home." Adam's voice was loud and clear, authoritative and powerful, even over the loud banging music.

Jasmine looked at Kaitlin. "Is he fucking stalking you?" Jasmine whispered.

Kaitlin swallowed at the thought. "N-no." She stuttered, but she wasn't sure.

"And if this is your building, I suggest you spend the night at a friends." Adam added as most of the students headed towards the door, leaving, some thanking him, some with their heads down, realising that he wasn't a student.

Kaitlin stared across at him.  Adams eyes landed on hers. His gaze lightened slightly, but he still looked tense.

"Let's go." Jasmine muttered from her side. Kaitlin and Jasmine helped one another up and made their way to the door.

Before they could leave,  Adam had stepped in the way. "How drunk are you?" He whispered. His voice low. His gaze trained on Kaitlin.

Jasmine and Kaitlin had stumbled to the door together, their arms linking one another the only thing stopping them from tumbling down. "I'm not drunk." She lies.

Kaitlin had frozen, her eyes on his. Jasmine stayed silent, glancing between her friend and her professor. "Do you want to try that again? A little honesty this time." Adam's voice was so quiet that it was barely audible. His face was hard, as if he had been worried.

Kaitlin licked her lips. "I'm allowed to have a drink?" She glared at him, anger taking over the attraction this time.

Adam nodded. "I agree, but you've had a little more than a drink don't you think?" He raised a singular brow. Both parties had seemingly forgotten the presence of Jasmine and a few other students rushing past.

"Are the police even on the way?" She wondered.

Adam smirked. "Go home, Kaitlin." He ordered, a gentle tone this time.

Jasmine looked down, eyes wide as she realised Adam had been stalking, and had pretended that the police were on the way, just out of worry and jealousy? Her eyes wide whilst she stared at the floor, making sure no one saw the surprise on her face.

"I think I might go to town." Kaitlin decided, finally looking to her side at Jasmine. Jasmine looked back at her, a brow raised on her shocked face. "What do you think?" Kaitlin smiled, devilish, at her friend.

"I-" Jasmine began.

"I think you should go home, Kaitlin." Adam intervened again. Kaitlin looked up at him again, her neck hurting with the way she had to peer up at him. "I really would suggest that." He seemed to plead.

Kaitlin raised a brow. "I-" She began.

"Please." Adam whispered this time. His gaze softening a lot. "Please, go home." He was begging her, now.

Jasmine looked down again, even more confused.

"Okay." Kaitlin finally agreed.

Adam sighed, a visible smile. He leaned down, not wanting her friend to hear this one. "Good girl," He whispered against her ear. Kaitlin's eyes widened this time.

He pulled back, finding her wide eyes, a smirk on his handsome face.

This time, before anything else could be said, Jasmine dragged her friend out of the door. Kaitlin let out a huge breathe as soon as she was out of the proximity of Adam.

"Girl, what the fuck was that?" Jasmine gawked.

Kaitlin shook her head. "I don't know." She whispered, confusion evident on her tone.

The next day came around fast for Kaitlin. She'd passed out as soon as she'd got home, and was thankful for it, she didn't want to lay awake thinking about him - her professor.

Confusion was still crawling around in her mind about last night, something had been wrong.  Very fucking wrong.

"Kaitlin! Are you awake?!" Jasmine almost screamed from the lounge. "Kaitlin!" And then all Kaitlin heard was the approaching of heavy and fast footsteps, before her door was pushed open.

"What's wrong?" She sat up, a little too fast considering her hangover. Her head span with the movement.

Jasmine panted. "It's Lewis." She said, eyes wide in horror.

Kaitlin's heart pounded against her chest, thinking the worst.

"He's been arrested." Jasmine said.

Kaitlin gawked. "What?" She whispered.

"Last night, just after Christian broke up the party. A full ass SWAT team arrested him." Jasmine explained.

And before Kaitlin could think more about what she'd just been told, her stomach turned and she threw up over the side of her bed.

Too much alcohol, and too much drama for her little stomach.

"He was arrested for selling drugs to underage kids. Apparently, one of the kids accidentally overdosed the other day." Jasmine explained as Kaitlin wiped her mouth.

Kaitlin gagged. "Stop. Please." She didn't want to be sick again.

Kaitlin met her friends gaze. "This is bad." Jasmine whispered. "Do you think Christian knew?" Jasmine asked.

Kaitlin nodded. Christian - who was Adam - had to have known.

And she was going to find out how.
