The red robed man and you stood at a stand still for a few seconds, neither making a noise nor move. You knew it was out of fear and anticipation, at least on your end it was. You weren't so sure about him.
"Um- erh"
He stumbled through his words, making small noises and grunts as he tried to organize his thoughts.
"Copia." He blurted out, a bit too loud and a bit too quick.
You stared back blankly, not having understood what he meant.
He cleared his throat.
"I'm Cardinal Copia." He clarified. He had a strong Italian accent one could easily assume affected his ability to properly enunciate certain English words.
Copia frowned, the person in front of him not reciprocating. 'Wasn't that the proper response?' He thought, slightly panicked. 'Why weren't they bowing? That was the right greeting for a guest, right?'
'Maybe they're just nervous.' Copia settled on that explanation, deciding to refer back to his lessons on etiquette.
Copia approached you and in one swift and practiced action, grasped your hand in his to gently kiss the back of it.
"What might your name be sister?" He asked, looking up at you from your hand with a charming smile.
His personality had done a 180°, once awkward and uncomfortable, now he seemed a proper gentleman. His actions seemed fluid and flawless, almost rehearsed to you.
"Sister?" You mumbled as a question more to yourself than him. Nonetheless he took it as being directed to him.
He was taken aback and paused. This definitely wasn't a scenario he was taught to deal with.
"Er- yes, that is what I said." He said, feigning what confidence he could.
"You ARE a sister of sin, aren't you?" Copia questioned, with a certain edge to his voice. He didn't intend it to come out as accusatory and hostile as it did. But whether that edge was anxiety or hostility didn't matter to you as you pulled your hand free from his loose grip.
"I- um, I don't thin-"
Before you could finish your half baked excuse, a loud scoff sounded from down the hall, cutting you off and stealing Copia's attention.
"Cardi~ how nice it is to see you! How's sister mommy been treating ya'?"
Copia let out a groan as a shorter slender man approached with a sway to his hips. With Copia distracted and the man not having noticed you, you take the opportunity to book it down the hallway, twisting and turning through different paths in a panic.
Fuck that, you needed to get home
《♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡》"The fuck was that?"
"What?" Copia turned around to see the stranger once in front of him gone, without a trace. Copia frowned, disapointed. He had done something wrong, he was sure of it. 'Did I use the wrong words, the wrong etiquette?' He replayed the interaction in his head, searching for what he thought was his own error.
"Don't tell me-" said the shorter man now before him. A teasing grin spread across his painted face. "You have a little tesoro now, don't you Cardi~"
"Eh- EH- WHAT? I- NO! I WOULDN'T I... DON'T-"
"You don't what?" Said the man, feigning innocent curiosity. He only served to further fluster Copia.
"OH- JU- SHUT UP!" Cardi shouted, his face now matching in hue to his cardinal robes. He marched outside, embarrassed, from his teasing companion with his arms crossed and head down.
"He really sucks..." Copia mumbled to himself.
《☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆》I fucking love copia dude he's so ahshdkjeke
