Oh dear me.

The two had started bickering once again, only this time, I was in between them. Not the usual in between them as much as I want to be. I had just been chosen to pair along with Paris and Polakov for getting three toys at the same time. A set of toy soldiers were given to a little boy for his birthday.

How sweet isn't it.

A timid sigh came out of me while the cloak continued to sway, absentmindedly listening to their quarrel. A few moments ago, Paris had talked briefly of a plan to catch the toys as we walked, and as usual, Polakov came up with a much - from his words - better plan than Paris.

Which thus led to the two quarreling of strategies to use, what places to take, and oh so much nonsense that weren't even connected to the mission.

I had listened closely, constantly glancing in between. If it were even possible, I'd say Paris would be fuming with red by now. A light snicker came out of me as I look at Polakov who merely used his mask to display that ridiculous smile of mockery. Paris must be red as the darling doll's hair.

A hum escapes me, while I stared straight at the road. Often times, the two were a nuisance to be around and yet times like this made me think of their quarrels similar to sibling rivalry, er, except for the annual trying to actually kill each other momentum.

" -Don't you agree cherry ?"  Cherry ? I paused at that and rose a brow at Paris who stared back at me like I had just not heard what he said.

"Cherie ? Like the French term of dear." I let out a chuckle, my nose doing it's little scrunch while I looked at him.

" Oh heavens no, I was referring it to the cherry. You know the fruit." The fruit ? What.

" Where on earth would you even think to call me that. "

"Hm ? " I saw his smile tug upwards, turning to his oh so knowing smirk. He tapped my nose and chuckled. I feel as though I had just been violated and yet not at the same time.

Is it normal to feel like this ?

" I would but," He covered his mouth to surpass a grinning chuckle on his face, it did nothing but mocked me in an unintentional way. I hope it was unintentional.

" You know better than anyone else about it."

" What's that suppose to mean. " Paris merely chuckled and stared back at the already target house while I stared back at him. What does he mean by that ? As humiliating as it was, I became aggravated by his words that I turned to Polakov for help, and oh, was that clown no better.

His eyes looked at me and I could feel a sly grin behind his mask while he choose to ignore my ridiculous statements.

By the time we arrived at the house, I took notice of the car just outside of the garage door. Taking a mental note of it and then jumped first inside of the window. Still aggravated by what had happened but it had died down, thankfully, my eyes glanced at the area for any movement of humans being inside. None. Which was good enough.

My hands took hold and opened the window wider, looking down at the two who turned their heads to me as I gave them a nod of approval. While the boys slid in, my mind took mental notes of which possible scenarios would go. Like now if we were to look for the three soldiers, it would be best to search inside of the little boy' room.

The idea was likely to do well, so I suggested it to the other two.

" Shall we split up or do you boys prefer something else ?" I asked, my hands cross against each other as I look behind me. Paris merely nodded and went out of the room whereas Polakov brush pass me.

Of course, two is better than three.

I can't help but shake off that bitter lining ache inside of my soul. I should've gotten used to these cold actions but alas it seems I couldn't. Better yet, I should just leave it be.

The House was big enough for a family of five, so there were rooms that those pesky soldiers could be at. I had wandered around the rooms, only to be left with nothing that could help find the soldiers. How wonderful.

It was only after a few minutes of looking around that I came in contact with something wet on my shoe. Something black and gooey.

My eyes shifted across the room from where I was, there was a set of stains on the floorboards and walls which made me lurch forward and slid inside of the room.

Ah of course, this was all I needed to see.

The room was covered in black goo and a few tattered pillowcases across. The boy must given a good fight judging that there was a small porcelain chip on the floor, I pick it up and inspected.

" Well now, what a mess." Paris' voice made me turn and hum at him while he too inspected the room.

" Seems we've missed quite the party."

Polakov followed suit, the two talked together seemingly ignoring the fact that I was still inside the room. I paid little to no mind at them but I paused near the window, looking down at the garage door where the car stood.

There was something rather odd in this moment and I have no doubt that this was all about the soldiers. The little boy's parents are no where to be found aside from that there were no suspicion of any guardians or siblings in here.

The car was at the garage and yet the house was empty. I have a bad feeling about this.

"Boys, if I may interfere, I have something to confess regarding of the ma-" Something or rather someone had hold onto my dress from behind when I faced them.

It all happened far too fast for me to comprehend what was going on.

Paris seemed aggravated and his hand reached out to mine. Had Polakov been this close before or did he sprinted to my direction ? He seems frantic while his hand grip tight on my fingers but it was already too late. I had slipped and he lost balance of my arm.

I felt my right feet bare but it was not important.

I fell out of the window. No... No.. I didn't fell. Someone threw me out. Someone... the toy soldier.

I watch the two look out of the window. Their voices were muffled with a stinging sound. So monotonic and unreadable that I still couldn't understand. Was it due to the shock of me falling ?

or.. was it the dreaded fear that I was taken. I don't know, all I know is that I've just been thrown out of the window and was now on the shoulder of someone running far away from the house.

" Y/n... "  Ivan's voice. He's smile and comforting aura...

I shook off the trance I was and sneer down at the toy. Oh was this night troublesome already.

Well, well. I'm back, and oh gosh is this chapter so short but I had to do so to stop the excitement (At least for me writing it)

Also I pray you took notice of the small details here and there from the comic. Ehe, anyways ciao. I'm going to write the next chapter which will, I promise and hope, be longer than this.

I just had to shorten this up to get up with the next chapter like planned it was. Huhu.

Stay sweet~ ♥︎
