Now that regulus had had the time to think about his interaction with Sirius he did feel a slight bit bad. He decided to give Sirius one last chance but only if he would take it by himself.Later all the students off the three schools were seated in the great hall while Dumbledore was explaining all the stuff about the tri-wizard tournament. The cup apparently had an age ring but luckily Regulus was allowed to participate, he really wanted to. After dinner Regulus excused himself to go for a walk. Pandora and Evan had been in an argument and honestly it gave Regulus kind of a headache.
Regulus walked out on Hogwarts school grounds. It was definitely beautiful. He walked for a bit and then sat down on a tree next to the black lake. He grabbed the book he had brought for an occasion like this, where he'd be alone all to himself and started reading. He didn't get far. 5 sentences in and he already got interrupted.
"hey", someone said, Regulus looked up to see his brothers friend Remus stand over him, "what?", he asked, Remus grinned awkwardly.
"What're you reading?", he asked, "the song of Archilles...", regulus answered.
Remus sat down, "oh, I loved that book! How do you like it so far?", Regulus blinked, "yeah, it's good. I really like it so far."Remus and Regulus just went on talking about books. Until Remus seemed to realise something.
"Hey, I know it's none of my business, but why do you hate Sirius so much?", he asked glancing behind Regulus.
"Well, he never wrote me a letter. He only came home for Christmas. He never asked me what's new with me. And he doesn't even bother to ask about my life at school. He hast written me in six years. I mean come on who does that?", Remus was awfully quiet.
"Oh."
"yeah, oh."
"Well what's new with you, R-", Remus started. "Don't.", Regulus cut him off, "first of all, that is not my name anymore. I'm Regulus. I've always been Regulus. That's what's new.", Remus smiled. "I have to go. But it was nice to meet you, Regulus.", he said and stuck his hand out. Regulus took it and answered, "you too, Remus Lupin."Regulus met his friends in the so called "dungeons" of Hogwarts. This is where the cup was placed to enter your name to the tournament. Regulus threw in his name in a piece of paper he had prepared. "Aren't you going to put yours in, Panda?", he asked, "no, I don't think I really want to participate anymore.", Pandora said. Regulus shrugged and turned.
"Where's Evan?"
There. Evan was standing a few feet away from the doors in a conversation with the brunette from the great hall.
Pandora shook her head.
"Let's wait for him upstairs.", she said and pulled Regulus out of the dungeons. On the stairs Sirius and Remus passed them. "Hey can we talk?", Sirius asked, Regulus looked at Remus just to see that both of them were looking at him.
"Oh. Not today. Tomorrow maybe.", he said, he didn't want to talk to Sirius today. One coming out per day was enough. "Oh okay.", Sirius said.
Pandora who must have missed that the boys were talking to Regulus was already at the top of the stairs, "Reggie, are you coming?", he looked up, "yeah.", and left."Is that her girlfriend?", he heard Sirius whisper behind him. There it was. That stabbing feeling in his gut. He reached Pandora and they kept walking.
"You alright?", she asked. He nodded. Then shook his head. At the end Regulus settled for a shrug.
