AFTER EVERYONE JUMPED onto the bus, Leon placed a hand on the driver's shoulder to urge him to start driving. More monsters came towards their way, even following them from the gun shop fiasco.

"Get us out of here!"

A large shake from the ground took them off guard, as the fat mutated zombie decided to hop down and lift up the school bus with its own hands. The weight of this giant monster shook the ground, the vibrations of his stomping could be felt. Slowly, the bus lifted as the monster pushed on the front. As if knowing they were trying to leave.

"The tub a' lards in the way!" The old man exclaimed in frustration, still clutching onto his gun and shooting out the stragglers from the windows. A zombie caught onto his gun, trying it's best to latch on. "Aw, dammit, get off of me ya rat bastard!"

The possibility of making it to the cathedral in one piece seemed so unlikely now.

The Japanese man cursed, hopping down to help the older man and shot down with his feeble gun. Clearly his movements were amateur and reckless. Yet, he wanted to help him with every inch he had. Seraphina gritted her teeth, telling every bone and nerve in her body to not look that way.

"You coming with me, son? Fine, I'll buy you a drink in hell, boy!"

The sounds of both men screaming were heard next, as everyone scrambled to survive for themselves and couldn't even try to save the two. Their screams of agony continued, then stopped eventually. Maybe they were dead.

"Shit, just drive!" Seraphina exclaimed at the driver, latching onto his seat before the man pedaled. Everyone was thrown back off of their feet again, wobbling around from the sudden speed. She
grabbed into Helena's arm before she could fall.

The fat zombie fell over from the pressure, letting go of the front of the bus. Lying on its back, it gurgled and groaned as the bus struggled to drive and crush its way through. Everyone inside shook around and fumbled before the bus finally drove through free.

After driving away for a little while, it felt like everyone could breathe. Their chests weren't as heavy. Hearts weren't beating as fast. Seraphina felt horribly guilty, when moments ago people had died. Yet a part of her didn't have energy to think about it anymore. She couldn't even spare a single glimpse.

Slumping onto a seat in the corner of the bus, she sighed deeply and closed her eyes. A bit of quietness could clear her mind. In times like these, Seraphina knew to not get caught up in her trauma. It would lead her focus away...

Helena and Leon were near the driver, keeping an eye on the surroundings and in case any danger pops up on the road. The bus was a lot more empty now, cold and dark from the night.

Feeling someone sitting by her side, Seraphina snapped her eyes open and looked above. In an instant, Leon was in the front and now in the back of the bus. He didn't say anything, as the night shadows reflected a grim expression.
