The fight with Aizawa went on for a few minutes before we both ended up on the ground in a tie of a win-lose. "I think that has been one of the most intense fights I've had with a student of mine." The crow-haired man stated from next to me as we stared at the ceiling gaining back some breath.
"Are you both okay?! You two were moving so fast I could hardly keep up!" Momo asked as she rushed over. While I could hear what she was saying nothing came out of my throat when I tried to answer. Which was most likely due to Aizawa hitting my throat too hard. The next time we fought revenge would be bittersweet and I wouldn't hold back on hitting him in the throat. "Izu?!" Upon shouting my name seconds later the sound of multiple people running could be felt on the gym floor. "Izu what's wrong?"
Since talking had become slightly difficult I used magic to communicate what was going on and words made of mint-green smoke appeared in the air above me. It was the one spell I could cast by just thinking about it. 'I'm fine, Shota hit my throat too hard, give me several hours and I should be fine.' I told them before sitting up and looking around. I found Mina, Hagakure, Ochaco, Tsu, Hanta, Denki, Eijiro, and Shota surrounding me and looking at me with worry. Lye was keeping Eri away and distracted by allowing her to sit on his back and run around as if he were a horse.
"What were you two thinking?! What if it's irreversible and you can't talk anymore?! Izuku, if you can't talk anymore I'm going to smack you!" I smiled at Momo's threat and silently laughed while the sound was written out next to me.
'I'll be fine let me get Lye over here.' I snapped my fingers and hit the ground next to me which got Lye to trot over to me with the small girl on his back. I pointed to my throat and Lye began to shrink down slowly so as to not hurt the girl and came over to me. (BLOOD WARNING!) I gave the cat my numb hand not that it mattered though and watched as the cat blocked Eri from seeing him scratch my hand enough for blood to pool. Then he licked it and huffed before growing once more. (BLOOD WARNING OVER!)'Since I'm not severely injured Lye can heal me as long as he can lick a physical wound. I'll be able to talk by the end of the day. Also, I know it seems gross and unhygienic, but don't worry. His healing works in about the same way RG's does only his tongue places kind of like a bandaid over the wound. At the same time, the saliva is similar to that of an antibiotic only it's not toxic to anyone or anything.' I told them. 'Well, actually that part is obvious since Lye isn't dead.'
"Izu how is Eri supposed to understand you? God, I should smack you regardless." Momo said as she helped me stand up. "As punishment for being stupid like this, you're making lunch." I nodded and summoned my phone into my hand. I did some tapping around and found an app I had long since forgotten about and started to type into it. Once I finished I hit enter and it began to read out the words I had typed in a voice similar to mine.
"This is how Eri will understand me. Also if you think smacking me will help then be my guest, my pain receptors are still off so I won't feel a thing."
"Okay now hold on a minute. You just had an app ready to go on your phone that can talk for you and sounds almost like you? Why?" Shota asked as he stopped the others from speaking. I let out a sigh and looked at the man as I began to type furiously.
"I mean I made it for if there was ever a time I could no longer speak. I wanted to try and see if I could create an app that could say everything I would need to in order to cast a spell or anything. It was a bust so I gave up on the magic of it and opted to keep it just in case so that way I had anyone around me other than Lye that cared about me, they could still hear my voice. Or well a similar pitch to it anyway."
"Kid you and me need to have another heart-to-heart later. I won't push for anything now since there are people around but later we are talking. Momo don't bother having him cook lunch, Lunch Rush dropped off food for everyone already. Have him make dinner instead. Now let's go eat." Shota said with a smirk at the end.
Once the old man was turned away from me and no one was looking I rolled my eyes and began to type on my phone. "Eri, Lye come on you guys."
"Coming Izu!" Eri sounded as she got off Lye and rushed over to hold my hand. I looked at the small girl as she swung our hands back and forth and wondered how she seemed so happy despite everything. Granted she hadn't smiled big or really enough to call a smile only the small movements of her jaw muscles, gave me hints on if she was 'smiling'. To anyone else, she looked like Shoto did most of the time, expressionless. She was so tiny, obviously not fed enough nor given a proper amount of vitamins and sunlight. I doubt she even knew the amount of power she held in her.
The horn on her forehead signaled how much of her quirk's power was stored in her body and the bigger it grew the easier it would be for the smallest thing to set her quirk ablaze. In all honesty, I really should have let them know the full extent of her power but it would tell everyone just how much of a danger she was if set off and the danger that she could be in if it was found out.
Eri was five and already had a world of pain, worry, and stress piled onto her shoulders. I looked at my phone and began to type quickly and turned down the volume before putting the phone to her ear and hitting enter. "Eri if there is anything you ever need to or want to talk about I'll always be here for you and I will listen and help you the best I can alright?"
"Ok Izu, thank you." I nodded my head to her and smiled sweetly at her. My thoughts were jumbled between her and whatever Shota wanted to talk with me about. Had me saying my pain receptors were off finally, made it click in his head that Mage and I were one and the same? Was he in denial about it and was trying to find any way possible to make it not click together?
"Izu? What has you with such a serious look on your face?" Momo asked as she slowed down to walk next to me.
'Nothing much, if you are still worried later though I'll tell you.' I told her knowing full well that I more than likely wouldn't tell her a thing about me being Mage unless I had to.
