Hidan woke up to a dim light. That was all, a dull light bugging his eyes. Poking at them with there sharp rays.
Hidan moved his hand over to beside him, only to be met with empty sheets. Panic arose from him, he put his hands underneath him and desperately tried to get up. He was only a few centimetres away from the creaking mattress. He let out a pitiful squeak, as he tried to force his body to move.
A hand pressed firmly on his back, pushing him back down. "Lay back down, Hidan, you need rest." Kakuzus voice explained to him. Hidan whipped his head back, seeing only a dark blob, reaching over to him. He allowed his body to collapse on his hands. "What ti-me is it?" Hidan asked, rolling to his back. Kakuzu took note of how much more normal he sounded. Less strained and cracky. "Around noon." The larger sat on the edge of the bed, the rusty springs creaked as he put his weight on it. "I-I thought you lef-t." Hidan muttered, moving his hand to the dip. The tips of his fingers hit a wall of muscle, he moved his palm up the curve and on top of Kakuzus thigh. The stitched man placed his hand on top of Hidans boney one. "I just went through all that trouble just to get you back, I'm not going to leave after one night." Kakuzu stated, watching Hidans wild unseeing eyes.
The holes were still there, but they were no longer covered in a black crust, they looked move like tunnels now. An apple worms lives in. The red blood left the slightly less yellow parts of his eyes. They looked a little healthier. The irises though remind a shallow pale and his pupils still a faded grey. All he could take in about Hidans eyes, and Hidan could not do the same.
He felt Hidans hand tense against his thigh as said man was yanking himself to the larger body. Once he made it to the desired destination, he move his head so it could rest upon the others lap. "I kn-now," he sighed, "but-" he cut himself off, unsure of what to say next. Kakuzu begun to play with the long strands of sliver attached to the skinny man's head head. He may not have been able to feel anything on the crown of his head, but the nerves on his neck sprang to life with every touch. Hidan couldn't tell that Kakuzu was looked at him, studying him. How different and similar he looked compared to the day before.
"O-i, K-Kakuz-zu," Hidan finally spoke, "how'd you ev-en surv-ive? I-I pierced you-r fuc-king heart, didn't I?" The question lingered in the air for a few seconds. "No you didn't, you stabbed yourself in the lung, idiot."
The older remembered the sudden shocking pain of a phantom pike being ran through his chest. The sting of his right lung millimetres away from his last heart. It was moments before he realized that it was Hidans curse, it was the only thing he could think of when he collapsed on the ground, barely hanging onto life. His eyesight fading in and out as he struggled to breathe. He just survived on a tightrope of luck. The kind you get when you only just barely won a round of poker. He found a man just barely on the brink of death, much worse then Kakuzu. His death was a relief to the nearly century old man.
"O-oi, I-I'm not an idiot! I-I was ju-s-st lo-s-t i-n-n the moment!" Hidan was just able to rise his voice a tiny bit. It still sounded like rocks being dragged on pavement but it was something. "Be thankful you are stupid, your idiocy saved us." His fingers went from long, deep, drags through the matted hair, to him petting Hidan gently. Hidan almost purred.
"Here, I'll get you something to eat." Kakuzu moved the smaller head off of his thigh. Hidan whined when the brunette stood, he no longer felt the weight beside them. "I'm not leaving the room. I'm just going to the kitchen." He pressed his thumb against the pale, almost completely bone cheek.
The kitchen was in the same room, there was very little space between them. The marble counter was ugly, cracked, but it did the job right. On the counter, was a bag of circled bread. The smell of yummy warmth made Hidans mouth water. He hadn't eaten in so long, desperate for food. The pit in is stomach was eating him up like worms.
Kakuzus hand placed a small squishy piece of food in his hands. "Oi, c-come o-o-on. I-I'm hungry, ca-can't you giv-ve me more?" He looked up at the older, or at least tried to, his eyes went a bit too much to the left. "You can't stomach too much, Hidan, you'll get sick." His body was weak and unused. There was no fat, he couldn't digest anything. "I k-know, but c-om-me the fuc-k-k on. I-it hur-ts." Hidan muttered, fiddling with the roll in his hands. "It will hurt more if you had bigger proportions. Just eat."
Hidan was pulled into Kakuzus lap. He brought the bread to his lips, a soft, dull tasting, crumbling bread filled his mouth, expanding between his lips due to his spit. It was great, at least until he swallowed.
It sat heavily in his stomach. Gross and it only hurt him more. He heaved, Kakuzu picked him up and carried him into the bathroom. He placed him on his knees in front of the toilet. His skinny hands grasped the sides. "Try to keep it down the best you can." The other rubbed his back, giving him words of encouragement. Hidan moved his closed fist to hid gagging mouth. He closed his eyes, swallowing his spit to keep the bread down. He took deep, hallow, breathes. He was almost panting. Soon the heaviness sunk into a weak sensation of being full. He wasn't used to feeling his stomach. He rested his head against Kakuzus chest, "I feel bet-b-better now."
