The week went by with mild difficulty. Hidans brain wasn't healed enough to have dreams but he still woke up in a cold sweat. He was determined each day to brush his hair, despite Kakuzus constant warnings. He hated getting bored in his bed, waiting for Kakuzu to get back, but true to his word: he got better.

Not to the point where he was recognizable but he has healed. He could stomach more then half a roll, now being able to eat one full meal a day. He could walk a couple meters on his own, without a wall or his partner to help him. He no longer sounded like he had swallowed needles and had to be careful or they would stab his throat.

After gathering all of their stuff, Kakuzu tossed a shirt and a pair of pants at his partner. "Ow! Dick head!" Hidan shouted at him, looking a bit more to the right then where Kakuzu really was. "Just shut up and get dressed." The older growled. Hidan huffed and started to shimmy the large pants on his legs.

Nothing fit him right, all of the clothes were loose. His body was too thin for anything at all to fit him.

"Here, eat this." Kakuzu stated, gently throwing an apple that hit Hidan dead in right in the chest. "Fuck ow! You could be nicer when you throw shit at me, you know!" Hidan hissed, while he picked up the apple. It crunched beneath his teeth, hurting him but the pain was mild. "You could of bruised the damn thing." He muttered between his bites.

He was happy that he no longer had to press his tongue against the back of his teeth. They weren't bowing backwards with every bite. They wouldn't break off anymore.

He held onto Kakuzus hand as they left the hotel, since he was still shaky at walking, even if he could walk for a few meters. Hidan munched away at his apple, wishing it was something like liver or ribs, but at this point he he was just happy he could just hold food down. Kakuzu held onto Hidans heavy scythe in his other hand, since Hidan was still far too weak to hold it.

The path they took was long and thin, clearly not walked on often. It had patches of grass throughout it, it had started to be reclaimed by the earth. It's use was almost up and would soon be hidden away and forgotten.

Hidan continued to happily munched on his apple until they entered the large forest the surrounded the small village. Hidan gripped the larger man's hand tighter, when he felt the thick branches cover the early morning sun. He was back in a woods, where his grave lays. He tried to convince his mind that he wouldn't actually know if they were in a forest. He was blind, but something about the woods that told him it was a woods. Something that made him uneasy, and dare he say scared. He was still eating his fruit, but it was slower now. He wasn't trying to gulp it all down at once.

Kakuzu took notice to Hidans less enthusiastic movements. "What's wrong with you?" He tried to sound more gentle, neither were really good at talking about their emotions. He had to be more comforting to the once fearless zealot. "I don't want to get buried again." He said softly, lowly, like a search hound has looking for him. Kakuzu didn't even question how Hidan knew it was a forest. He felt the change too.

The cool morning sun became a nippy chill. The bright morning was ever so dimmer. The ground was bumpier. The whole place smelt of pine. It was hard to say you weren't in a forest, even if you are not reliant on your eyes. Something just told you it was a forest. Something unsafe.

The trees twisted and turned into any spot they could get, some even curling into each other. Wrapping around and permanently conjoining them together just to claim more for themselves. There was an indescribable desperation for more then these living pillars had. Always wanting.

He supposed he couldn't judge the trees for this, he himself was greedy by nature. Other then Hidan little brought him more joy then money. In a way he was similar to the trees, wanting to take more then he had.

He looked over at Hidan. His eyes looked healthier then before, though them falling out would be healthier at that point. The holes hat become small red dots. No longer died they look like bug infested leaves. He felt comfort in knowing that he could look at Hidans eyes with out the tensing up.

"Kakuzu! I'm cold!" Hidan groan, gripping the olders arm tighter. Kakuzu knew that Hidan would eventually freeze. He had no body fat or even a jacket. All he had to wear was pants and a shirt. "Just wait until the air warms up." He stated, temporarily slipping his hand out of Hidans, he rubbed up Hidans arm for a moment. He knew the warmth would go away instantly, but he was trying to get the blood back in his arms. He need to be in the most pristine condition he could keep him in, so that Hidans body can focus on healing. "I'll get you something warmer the moment I can. Just tough it out." He said held his fingers tightly, the little fleshy icicles attached to his hand. With five hearts pumping in his body, he was warmer then the average person. Hidan nodded with a defeated look sitting on his face. "Fine, but I wanted extra blankets when we get to wherever we're going." Hidan demanded. "We'll see." Kakuzu said sternly, if they make it to a cheap hotel and that hotel has extra blankets, he can have all he wants. Hidan pouted, sticking his bottom loot out. "Alright, but I better be warm." With a sigh and smile, Kakuzu just held his tiny hand.
