Hidan trailed behind Kakuzu, he was finally able to walk. He could feel the blood that covered his partners hand coat the knees of his pants. It created a uncomfortable feeling, similar to when one gets their sleeves wet when washing their hands. He tried to ignore with the more pressing matter: why was there blood? He didn't get any answers by asking, that was holding a flame to his blood, making bubbles form and pop. He desperately wanted to know what why blood caked the other. What even happened? The elder wasn't gone for long, less then a minute.
His mind shifted over to his want for them to find a town soon. He hated the taste of his vomit that had worked its way into his tongue. His teeth felt as if they were covered in slime. He felt grimy and dirty.
He began to play with his hair, only now realizing how long it got. He always had it long, it looked weird the few times he got it cut short. 'I hate it! Make it long again!' He'd yell at the old woman, she'd lift part of her lip, showing teeth before yanking on his ear and scolding him. Fond memories from childhood.
"Where are we even fucking going?" He asked, turning his attention back to the olders mans back. "East, towards the land of hot water." Kakuzu answered, his voice was monotone. Hidan lit up. "We should go to Yugakure! I need to fix my scythe, and my pendant." He stated holding up his rotted weapon.
It's handle had been whittled down to twigs. The blood red blade was orange with rust. The rope was cut, and the bandage that covered half of the snath had yellowed from the spoilage it suffered. It had in horrible condition, even one swing would shatter the most of it.
Kakuzu still didn't turn back to look at him. "If we happen across it." He said hoping Hidan would just stay quiet for a bit, however, that wasn't good enough for Hidan. "Come on! I need to make a sacrifice to lord Jashin! He's probably pissed he has to wait this long!" He shrieked, clenching his fists like a toddler. "Shut up." Kakuzu warned, voice dripping with anger. With anyone else they'd pipe down, shift back in their lane and out of the way, but this was Hidan. You could hold him over a forty-foot cliff with both of you knowing that you'd drop him, and he'd still sneer at you.
"You old fucker, jus-" Kakuzus hand clasped over Hidans mouth, making both stand still. Kakuzu started weighing his options, as Hidan began clawing at his wrists, trying to get away. He was trying to find a good excuse to rip him apart and living him for condors, but he decided to choose a less violent punishment. He let one of his threads wriggled out of his arm, and crept towards the fidgeting body. The thread punctured Hidans pale cheek, making him thrash harder. It created a zigzag path across his lips, from on end to the other. He slowly pulled his palm away as it mirrored its earlier movements. Hidan clawed at his lips, trying to loosen the stitches. Finally, it ended at the same cheek as it started at. It tied itself, then separated from Kakuzu, who started walking away.
Hidan let out a muffled scream, wagging his arms around wildly. Once he realized Kakuzu was too farther away for him to even her in unintelligible rant he chanced after him still raving on and on.
Eventually Hidan calmed down, unhappily accepting his fate. His arms were crossed against his chest, glaring between Kakuzus shoulder blades. Maybe he'd be able to pop on of Kakuzus last few hearts with his boiling mind.
The older stopped. They sky had began to dim. "We'll stay here for the night." He guided the smaller to off the road. Hidan let out a loud mumbled squeal and pointed to his string tangled mouth.
Kakuzu looked at the lines in his lips, a small bit of blood on the part of the strings that entered his skin. He held the others chin with one hands, and with the other grabbed the tied end and gently pulled on it, making his red tinted lips tighten into a siren line. Hidan looked as if his eyes would pop out. He released the tiny knot. He started to brush the others lower lip with his thumb, then went over it again. "You can stay like that a bit longer." He let go, watching Hidans reaction. His almost white face had changed colour so much, it was as if someone had painted him with red ochre.
Kakuzu sat, witnesses Hidan throwing himself around violently, as one of his masks take shape. It slumped to the ground and crawled onto Kakuzus shoulder, holding onto him with its upper legs and standing on its lowers. It watched Hidan curiously, confused by what it was seeing. It jumped backwards with a thump and waddled its way towards Hidan with fascination. It sat beside the tantruming man, staring up at him, the little dots on its masked face stared intently. It decided that Hidan was too loud, so it made its was to him. When it got to him it grabbed his arm with its rat like hands and yanked him down. Hidan went tumbling to the dirt. It then sat on top of him, loafing like a cat. The creature absentmindedly looked around as Hidan continued to yell. The heart, still was growing upset, pressed it hands against his mouth.
Once Hidan had finally quieted down, the stringy monster moved back into its previous position, looking down at him. Kakuzu whistled getting the big beasts attention. "I'm going to go find some fire wood, you watch him." He explained as if it would understand him, it nodded then went back to staring at Hidan, who then glared at the man walking away.
