(A/N): since it's Valentine's Day I'll post! Please enjoy :)
Kakuzu got to the motel in the late evening. Something felt off, it had been nagging at him. He was scared it had something to do with Hidan.
It had been exhausting dealing with him. It wasn't Hidans fault he was a weak, decay mess, but that didn't changed the tiredness he has been feeling the past two days. Hidan hasn't been a thorn in his side, more of a dying rose he was trying to bring back to life. He felt an odd guilt about it as well.
Hidan was a desperate, thin, shell of his former self. Most of him was dead, and the parts of him that wasn't were in a constant pain, even if it was low dull sensation. He was sick at best, and unsalvageable at worst. He knew he wouldn't be able to let Hidan remain buried. However, would it have been better to let him, thinking back to the day he dug him out. He wished he gotten to Hidan sooner, that way he would be at least able to move and eat without consequence. His own mixed feelings wore down at his mind, unfortunately adding to the discomfort in his stomach.
With nothing else to do with his indecisive feelings, he opened the door. The smell of puke hit him instantly. Hidan was asleep on the floor, in front of the bathroom door, puke on his shins. Kakuzu scrunched his nose, face shifting into a scowl from the smell. He grabbed Hidan by the shoulders, unintentionally waking the pale man up. "W-what the fuc-ck!" He yelled, his voice much more clear. "Shut up, Hidan!" Kakuzu shot back, leaning him against the bed. He grabbed a roll of paper towel from the kitchen. "Oh and wh-where have you been, y-you old fuc-k?" Kakuzu kneeled beside him, roughly rubbing the absorbent sheet against his partners legs. The skin was now like rubber, no longer mushy nor felt like it was about to fall apart. "You ungrateful little shit." He growled back at the thin man. Ripping off another piece, he started to clean the mess in the bathroom. "Well I got hun-ngry! Fu-c-k off!" Hidan crossed his arms, pouting. "I told you not to eat too much, dumbass." Kakuzu felt like he wanted to pound the youngers head in. Hidan remained quiet for a moment, lost in thought. "My stomach f-fucking hurt!"
Kakuzu sighed. Of course Hidan would give into his temptations so quickly. The other was never easy to deal with, of course he'd be harder to handle now.
After throwing out the last disgusting piece of paper towel, he picked Hidan back up, and placed him in the bed. "You're never going to heal if you're constantly moving. Lay down and stay in bed." He demanded, his voice was both stern and tired. He threw the comforter over his partner. "But I get bored when you're gone doing shit. I don't want to be cooped up in this fucking shit hole all day." He whined, yanking the blanket over himself. "I don't give a fuck. Deal with it yourself." Kakuzu spat through clenched teeth. He'd hit the other if Hidans body didn't have to completely recover itself. Hidan muttered something unintelligible to himself, playing with his long hair. Kakuzu sat beside him on the bed. "Just stay in bed, Hidan. It's not a difficult ask." "I know, but I don't wanna." Hidans eyes reminded fixated on him, his ghastly, unseeing stare felt haunting. He couldn't see but his eyes felt cold. Kakuzu laid down. "We have to leave as soon as we can. In case you have forgotten some one saw you." He pushed Hidans corpse like body closer to his own. "I'm not an idiot. I remember that shit."
It has been so long since he was out of that hole. Things like: gentleness, or care, or even thinking have become foreign to him. His mind turned everything off, trying to protect itself. He was forced into a coma that basically left him dead.
He leaned into the others touch, feeling warm. "Then you should understand why you have to rest." Kakuzus growl went away, and began to run his fingers through Hidans hair. Noticing the lack of tangles. "Just give me a week I should be better by then." Despite all that happened, the air had calmed. "You're not going to be healed enough. You are basically dead." Hidan nodded. "I know but I'll be fuc-king better." He gave a little smile, showing that his teeth were starting to come in.
