Ch. 7 Reassurance

You and Nezha were walking to the usual training spot since you had slept in again. "So Nezha, how are you going to teach me self defence exactly?" You asked with a hint of curiosity in your voice "You will see Lous Blossom." You groaned slightly out of annoyance, disappointed at his response.

As you continued to walk you weren't near the training area as Nehza suddenly turned around and started attacking. Thankfully you got out of the way in time however you had lost you footing and fell with your left leg scratching off one if the sharper lower branches you groaned in pain "HEY! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" You raised you voice "hmm.. well you have quick relfexes however we will need to work on your footing.." He simply stated as you were checking your leg for the damage ".. Let me see." He said before bending down to your level to check the leg you were inspecting. Your inner thigh was bleeding a bit but it was not serious.

"I will be back." Was all that he said before he went somewhere, it took a few minutes before he came back with bandages he bent down again and started wraping your leg with it before standing up again and holding his hand out for you. "Come on Lotus... I have a surprise for you."

Once you had gotten close to that spot in the forest The Celestial Prince covered your eyes with his sash, "Relax, I shall guide you." Nezha had said as he held your shoulders. Once you had gotten there he had told you to stay where you stood and he went next the a stand once he has retracted his sash you stared in awe after your eyes had gotten used to the sun light again. In front of you was an armor stand with armor that looked very similar to his. Like where you see pink on his where red, the cyan, was black while the gold trims stayed the same, the boots where brown like his and you had a white undershirt as opposing to his red one, but other than the colour differences it was basicly the same with the skirt made to look like lotus petals, and typically the same design just with the sash around where your abs are, granted it wasn't long just mainly there for support.

"You... made this...?" You ask still starstruck by it "U-uhh well, yes indeed I did make this.. with some help... I have been doing this ever since I took you in Lotus.. for when this part of your training was to come." He said while you nodded in understanding. "For now... we will practice on how to dodge basic hits, like punches and so forth. Understand?" He told you as nodded once again with a determined face, showing Nezha that you want to learn how to defend yourself.

Another failed attempt at blocking. You were out of breath it had almost an hour now since this and you were started to get slightly frustrated, Nezha noticed and recommend a break for you to unwind a bit, but above all your frustration he seen what appeared to self doubt through your face almost as if you were deep in thought.

You barely noticed him sitting next to you, he was quiet once you glance a his as he thought to himself. Only so much could go through his head but despite the many times he's reassured in that he has not made a mistake the thought of he might did still did creep into your line of thought, especially now with how terrible you have been doing as you looked away staring at the ground.

You heard him sigh, "Are doubting on my decision again over today Lotus..?" You didn't answear you didn't even look at him, you just kept your eyes on the ground. You knew he was right, it might very been because he just knew you well enough over the past few weeks or you were just THAT easy to read and if it was that then you hated it. You didnt want to be so easy to read.

He knew you were not to answear and his words of reassurance are not working any more as your self doubting thoughts are coming back quicker, he thought for a few more seconds before saying "I don't think it's me that needs to reassure you, but maybe you.. or at the very least the ones around you. Family, friends, that Yuze kid." Nezha said to you you still didn't respond before he grabbed your arm and pulled you up. You confusion was expressed through your emotion and words  "Whaat are you doing..?"  "Look at me Lotus Blossom." He said ignoring your question you looked him hesitantly. "Y/n..."  He starts "Think about what you have done the past few weeks." Nezha paused for a moment to let you think, when you could think of anything, he continued "You have done so much, you helped others when they need it, you helped your friends younger sister find her way back to her mother.., and when your friend went missing you sent out in search for him. Yeah it had some lasting consequences but... over the past few weeks you've shown that you care My Lotus Blossom.. thats how I know you are worthy of my power." He said with one of his rare smiles as one on his hands hold your shoulder gently, but his words.. they struck something in you like it was a wave. You something made you feel that he didn't pick the wrong successor. You nodded smiling slightly "Good now, fist up. Let's try again."

His words had helped you get back on your feet at least a little bit. You defence training wasn't great, but it is your first time doing it, he helped reminding you of that...
