Thornpaw sighed as he left. He could tell she didn't believe he did that by choice. He would have to work harder. Maybe he could bring her some water. Just as he thought of that, Dustylight beckoned him over with her tail. He padded over. "Yes?" Thornpaw asked.

"Today is a hunting training assessment. Obviously this is for training, not for becoming a warrior." Dustylight mewed. After she said that, he truly realized that his crush on Thrushpaw had changed him. Any day before now, he would be expecting them to think he had the abilities of a full grown warrior despite his young age and was going to become a warrior. Now, he was appalled at the thought of being made a warrior freakishly early.

"So how much prey do I need to catch?" Thornpaw asked. It was just beginning to be green-leaf.

Dustylight thought for a moment. "I'd say... 4 or more pieces of prey." Thornpaw nodded and stalked out of camp. Breathing in, he noticed a vole under a bramble bush. He snuck towards it silently. He pounced, and killed it quickly. Burying it, he moved on. Under the Great Climbing Tree, he killed a mouse. Then, he missed a thrush, being distracted, and then caught a blackbird. He got a robin and on the way back, he also caught another vole. He took his catches to Dustylight. "Great job!" Dustylight exclaimed enthusiastically. "You can go eat and rest!" Thornpaw sat next to Lionpaw.

"Tomorrow, Thrushpaw will be training again," Thornpaw sighed happily.
