When Thrushpaw woke up in the medicine cat's den, her mind was still on Thornpaw. She wasn't convinced he was forced to hunt for her. She dismissed the thought as Brightherb flexed Thrushpaw's paw. "You're good," Brightherb nodded. Just in time, too!
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the gathering hill for a clan meeting!" Graystar yowled. Thrushpaw rushed outside. "Tonight, as I'm sure you all know, is the Gathering. Sunblaze, Shortear, Treepelt, Moonheart, Thornpaw, Lionpaw, and Thrushpaw are going. Obviously I don't need to say Jaggedtooth and Brightherb is also going. I also was talking to Dustylight and she requested that Thornpaw gets a more- er- experienced mentor. So, Sunblaze, you will be Thornpaw's new mentor." Graystar leaped down to the ground.
That night, Thrushpaw looked around for her friend, Creekpaw. She saw her and hurried over. "Hi Creekpaw!" Thrushpaw exclaimed.
"Hi! How has the annoying kit becoming an apprentice gone?" Creekpaw asked.
"Oh gee I honestly don't know anymore!" Thrushpaw moaned.

Thrushpaw padded over to Jaggedtooth. "Are you ready for your fighting assessment?" Thrushpaw's mentor asked. Yesterday, Thrushpaw had taken the hunting assessment, and passed.
"Yeah, who will I be fighting?" Thrushpaw asked.
"Thornpaw," Jaggedtooth replied. Soon, Thornpaw and Sunblaze come over. "Let's go!"
