I had arrived to class a little late, I sat in my chair beside Lucas and we high five each other.
I opened my backpack and when I did I saw a note that said: 'DISGRACE' I looked around the classroom and trying to find any familiar face who wrote that, I hurried up and crumbled the paper and placed it back in my bag.
Then I heard the class door open, I saw a girl with red hair walk in, "Alright, hold up. You don't get away that easy." Mr.Clarke said.
"Come on up. Don't be shy." He continued, "Dustin, drumroll." Mr.Clarke said, Dustin started to drumroll on his book.
"Class, please welcome, all the way from sunny California, the latest passenger to join us on our curiosity voyage, Maxine." Mr.Clarke announced, "It's max." The girl corrected.
"Sorry?" I heard mr.Clarke say, I turned to her, "Nobody calls me Maxine. It's max." She said.
"Madmax." Lucas whispered to me, I rolled my eyes, like I cared which I really don't.
"Well, all aboard, Max." Mr.Clarke said, max walked to her desk and sat down in her assigned seat.
The boys looked at her but I didn't even glance at her once, I looked down at my watch to check the time.

"There's no way that's madmax." Mike said, I really wasn't interested in who she was and I didn't care.
"Yeah. girls don't play video games." Will said, "And even if they did, you can't get 750,000 points on dig dug." I heard mike say, Lucas gestured to me, "(Y/n) has 999,000 points, just confused why it went down." Lucas said.
"It's impossible." Dustin said, I rolled my eyes, "but her name is max." Lucas said.
"So what?" Mike added, "So, How many maxes do you know?" Lucas asked, "I don't know." Mike answered, "Zero. That's how many." Lucas replied.
"She shows up at school the day after someone with her name breaks our top score. I mean, you kidding me?" Dustin said, "Exactly. So she's gotta be madmax." Lucas said.
"And plus, she skateboards, so she's pretty awesome." Dustin continued, "Awesome? You haven't spoken a word to her." I said to Dustin.
"I don't have to. I mean, look at her. Shit, I've lost the target." Dustin said, "Oh! There." Will pointed.
We saw her throw a crumbled up piece of paper in the trash, Dustin and Lucas looked at each other before running towards the trashcan.
Why am I friends with these idiots?
Dustin was digging inside the trashcan while we tried hiding him, "Got it. There we go." Dustin said, he opened up the crumbled paper.
'STOP SPYING ON ME CREEPS!'
Well obviously that's what she was gonna say, I literally don't want anymore people in the party.
"Well, shit." Dustin said, I rolled my eyes, "William byers." I heard the principal say.
"Your mothers here." The principal said, aw, I didn't want Will to leave yet.
I saw Will follow the principal and I watched as they both walked away, I felt eyes on me and when I turned around everyone had their eyes on me.
Now I get a letter and then everyone's staring at me, what did I do wrong?

I sighed and stared down at the dining table, not eating my food at all.
Jesse looked over at me, "What's wrong?" Jesse asked, I shrugged.
"Nothing..." I trailed off, hands fidgeting a bit, "Don't lie, come on (Y/n), tell the truth." Jesse said.
"Does everyone at my school know? About..." I trailed off, Jesse eyes widen.
"Your bone cancer?" Jesse asked, you nodded, "I've got called a disgrace just because of that. But how could they know? And about the Ewing sarcoma.." I continued, Jesse sighed.
"I'm pretty sure they don't know. don't worry about it, okay? Here," Jesse reached over and handed me his ring.
"Whenever you feel the need to wear it go ahead." He told me, I nodded and gave him a thankful smile, then I yawned.
"Sleepy already? It's not even 11:00." Jesse said jokingly, I nodded, "Long day." I told him, I got up from the dining table.
"Night (Y/n)." Jesse said, "Night." I replied and walked into my room, closing the door behind me.
