MARCH 21ST 1986

Here it was, almost near spring break. It's been one year since all that went down at starcourt mall, maven and I still keep in touch.

I stepped off the bus and placed my headphones over my ears and began listening to tears for fears.

Also max is getting somewhat better, it's just that her and Lucas broke up last year.

"(Y/n), where were you yesterday?" Ms.Kelly asked, placing a hand on my shoulder.

"Oh? Sorry, I- I slept in late yesterday. couldn't make it to school." I told her, she just gave me a smile and nodded.

"That's fine! Just see me today please?" Ms.Kelly said, I nodded, "Will do." I said and walked away.

As I did I walk down the school halls and into the gymnasium, there I saw the cheerleaders doing their performance.

I made my way to the far end of the bleachers and sat alone, I continued listening to my music.

I then saw Lucas run in with his teammates, I lowered my head so he wouldn't see me, lately I've been distant with everyone.

I didn't listen to Jason's speech as I checked my watch with a tired look on my face.

Once it was over with I hurried up and made my way out of the gym and scurried away but I heard a voice call my name.

I Haven't told anyone about my bone cancer returning but the doctors told me I didn't need crutches.

"(Y/n), hey." I heard a familiar voice say, I turned around and saw it was Lucas, "Hi?" I said as I continued walking.

"I wanted to give you something." Lucas said and handed me a ticket, oh- to his game.

"It's kind of a big deal and I was hoping my biggest supporter could be there." Lucas said, I stopped in my tracks and turned towards him.

"Sure, I'll be there." I told him and gave him a weak smile, Lucas smiled back and gave me a quick hug before running off.

I walked into the bathroom and looked into the mirror and noticed my cheekbones were more noticeable, I touched them and felt the bone, I flinched and looked away from the mirror ashamed.

A disgrace.

I hurried and ran out of the bathroom, I couldn't stand to see myself like that.
