ONE YEAR LATER

I felt a hand on my waist as maven pulled me closer, the music was playing on the radio.

I began to sing along with the song, i forgot what it was called so the lyrics were all messed up.

"(Y/n), stop, stop!" Maven said, but I continued to sing but then I stopped when I felt a hand over my mouth.

"You don't like it?" I asked, he shook his head with a chuckle, I began to laugh myself.

I felt maven grab my chin and he pulled me into another kiss, this time it was softer than the last one.

Then I pulled away and started to sing again, maven let out a sigh as he watched me do so.

Then the weird thing happens- the lights turned out and the radio stopped playing, all you heard from it was static.

"What happened?" I asked in a whisper, "I..I don't know." maven trailed off.

Then the lights cut back on, I sighed in relief and shared a look with maven, he then placed a soft kiss on my lips.

Today was a great day, Dustin would be coming home today, so here we were at his house getting ready to surprise him.

We hid behind a wall, I held maven's hand while his eyes was closed and his nose bleeding a bit.

When I heard the sounds of the toys coming closer I turned to maven, "Now!" I whisper shouted, he opened his eyes and the sounds stopped.

I gave Lucas the large sign and max began to countdown with her fingers, on the final number we blew our party horns and then I heard Dustin scream, maven pushed me behind him and Lucas screamed as Dustin sprayed hair-spray in his eyes.

"Okay, is that better?" I asked Lucas, "still hurts." he answered and removed his head from the sink and wiped the water away from his eyes then turned to max.

"Is that a new zit?" He asked, pointing to her head, my eyes widen, "What is wrong with you?" She said, "I was just asking-!" Lucas screamed as the water hit his eyes.

Then I heard the front door open behind us, "What's going on?" I asked, maven grabbed my hand, "Going to talk to Dustin's girlfriend." Will answered.

"Girlfriend?" Lucas and max said in sync, they looked at each other before running to follow us.

It wasn't even an hour we've been walking up this hot hill, I couldn't walk anymore as I was growing tired.

So maven let me piggyback on his back, I'm surprised he wasn't tired, he was barely even sweating.

"Hey, guys!" Mike yelled, maven and I turned around to look at mike, "this is fun and all, but, uh..." he trailed off, "I have to go home." El announced.

"We're almost there." Dustin pointed to the top of the hill, "Sorry, man. curfew." Is all mike said before grabbing El's hand, "Good luck." She told us.

"It's been like this all summer." I said.

"It's romantic."

"It's gross."

"It's bullshit."

"I just got home." Dustin said, I let out a sigh, "Well, their loss, right? Onwards and upwards! Suzie awaits!" he said.

Maven turned back around and we followed him, I laid my head on his shoulder as he carried me.

This was going to be a long day..
