Today is the day. Today is the day that my parents meet Rykers mom. I'm not really that nervous I guess...
Oh who am I kidding? I'm nervous as Fuck! Partly because, even though my parents don't know it, they're meeting my boyfriend and his mother. It's kinda nerve wracking. What if they don't like him? What am I supposed to do then, stay at his house all
the time? Pretend like I don't have a boyfriend who I'm crazy about.
They were going to be here at any minute and I could feel myself sweating bullets. I checked for sweat marks and there were none, but it felt like there were.
I sat on the living room couch, watching my leg bounce. "Are you okay sweety?" My mom asked as she walked past the living room.
"Yeah I'm fine mom." I called back. I checked my phone to see if Ryker texted but there was nothing there. Of course.
"Ugh!" I groaned openly, running a hand down my face. Where are they? I'm tired of waiting for them to get here, it's really annoying me. Well, really I'm just impatient, but still!
"Why are you so fidgety right now?" My dad asked, coming into the living room to sit next to me.
"Well. I'm nervous of what you're going to think of Ryker." I said truthfully. If they can't accept him as my friend, then they're damn sure not going to be able to accept him as my boyfriend, and that'd be a big problem.
"And why is that?" He asked.
"Because um...because we're friends and I want him to come over here and if he comes over I don't want him to feel like you guys don't like him or something.." I said, trailing off. That was
not convincing whatsoever.
"Is that really the only reason why?" He asked, raising a brow at me.
"Y-Yeah, why?" I asked. He looked behind and all around him before turning to me.
"Listen son. I'm not stupid. I can read you like an open book, unlike your mother. I know there's something else about this boy you're not telling me, telling us, and I'm not going to force it out of you. But just know, don't feel like you have to hide anything from me, alright?" He said, patting my back.
"Dad..." I said. He smiled, winking at me. I opened my mouth to say something to him but the doorbell
rang. Thank you god!
"They're here." I said, jumping up from the couch, walking into the foyer. Holy shit, does my dad know about Ryker? No, there's no possible way for him to know about him! Maybe it was some sort of reverse psychology shit, trying to make me spill the beans before I was ready.
I walked up to the front door, opening it wide. Ryker was standing right in front of me, his mother slightly behind and to the
left of him.
"Hi." I said smiling. He smiled back and I quickly looked him up and down. He had on a black button up and jeans, kinda dressy but kinda casual.
"Hey." He said smiling back. I stepped aside and let them walk inside. His mom shot me a quick smile and walked past both of us. I knew she found the kitchen when I heard my mom talking in that fake friendly voice she puts on for guests.
Ryker turned to me, kissing me on the forehead. "You okay?" He asked. I pouted a little bit, due to the fact that he didn't kiss me on the lips, but that's a dangerous game.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I said sighing. "My dad just said something weird to me carlier."
"What'd he say?" He asked.
"I'll tell you later, we have to go in there before they get suspicious." I said. He nodded, following me into the kitchen.
My mom and dad were on one side of the table and Rykers mom on the other. Ryker sat down next to his mom and I sat at the head of the table in between Ryker and my mom.
