Kyungmi and Taeri stared at Maeyeong with narrowed eyes. Maeyeong shifted uncomfortably under their gaze. "Why didn't you go with your mother to the States?" Kyungmi questioned.
Maeyeong huffed and rolled her eyes in annoyance. Taeri folded her arms over her chest, waiting for an answer. Maeyeong blew out a breath of disbelief. "You're kidding, right? I didn't come here to be interrogated," Maeyeong snapped.
"Wah, that's actually really funny because we have no intention of leaving you alone until you answer," Taeri snapped back. Maeyeong was shocked at Taeri's small outburst. Maeyeong looked away, avoiding answering the question. Taeri looked at Kyungmi who had her head tilted to the side while staring intently at Maeyeong. Maeyeong looked back at Kyungmi, holding her gaze.
"She isn't going just for work, right?" Maeyeong stiffened at the question. "I mean, that would make sense because any other time that your mother has to go to the States for work, you happily trail behind her," Kyungmi paused, trying to think of why Maeyeong wouldn't want to follow her mother back to the States. When the sudden realization hit, Kyungmi snapped her eyes open wide, "she's thinking about moving back, isn't she?"
Maeyeong sighed heavily. Taeri's interest peaked when Maeyeong began to speak. "That's not all of it," she stated. "She found someone," the words slipped out in a whisper.
Kyungmi looked taken back while Taeri looked beyond happy. "Mae- how is that a bad thing?"
Maeyeong looked at Taeri with a bewildered expression. "What the hell do you mean, 'how is that a bad thing?'"
"Taeri-ya, you're being insensitive. It hasn't even been a year since her dad passed away. Who wouldn't be upset that their parent had already moved on?" Kyungmi defended Maeyeong.
Taeri looked at Kyungmi in annoyance. "What would you know? You never even knew your dad."
Maeyeong gasped at Taeri. Kyungmi laughed bitterly at Taeri, catching both of them by surprise. "Eonnie, that wasn't very nice," Maeyeong pointed out.
Taeri looked apologetic but before she could say anything, Kyungmi cut her off. "Maeyeong-ah, you're welcome to stay here as long as you want. It's my house after all," that was all Kyungmi said before pushing past Taeri, and heading straight to her room. Taeri mumbled curse words to herself as Kyungmi slammed her door shut. Maeyeong looked at Taeri with a disappointed gaze before walking back into the guest room.
After a few hours, no one dared to look at each other. Maeyeong came out of the room after taking an hour power nap, while Kyungmi hadn't come out of her room at all. Kyungmi grew up not knowing who her father was. Her mother shielded every detail of her father, not wanting her to go out and attempt to look for him. Taeri knew that and still decided to use it against her - which hurt.
A small knock snapped Kyungmi out of her trance. Maeyeong opened the door the smallest amount before peeking her head inside. "Eonnie, the food is here whenever you're ready to eat," Maeyeong announced.
Kyungmi lazily rolled over, eyeing Maeyeong. "What'd you get me?"
Maeyeong smiled, knowing that food was the easiest way to win Kyungmi over. "Ramyeon for the place down the street, the one you like."
Kyungmi smiled at Maeyeong before fully rolling out of bed. Kyungmi followed Maeyeong into the kitchen. Maeyeong paused before turning around to stop Kyungmi. "What, Maeyeong-ah?"
"She didn't mean it," she blurred out.
Gently closing her eyes, Kyungmi gently sighed. "I know that, but it doesn't mean that it didn't hurt," Kyungmi pointed out. "Now get out the way, I'm starving," she dramatically exclaimed, emphasizing the word starving. Maeyeong giggled at her eonni before nodding her head and moving out of the way.
Kyungmi froze when she saw who was sitting in the living room. "Wonie?"
"Hi nuna," Jungwon smiled gently at Kyungmi. He stood up, making his way toward her. Kyungmi didn't hesitate to toss herself into his arms once he was close enough. Jungwon chuckled, pleased to see that Kyungmi missed him just as much as he missed her.
"Woah, Kyungmi-ah. You're not going to say hi to the rest of us?" Sunghoon piped up from behind the two.
Kyungmi laughed in embarrassment. "Sorry. I honestly didn't see you guys," she honestly admitted as she tightened her arms around Jungwon's waist. Jungwon couldn't hide the smile that tugged at his lips. "Hi, guys."
Sunghoon and Heeseung laughed at Kyungmi who turned her head away from the two, completely embarrassed. "It's okay, Kyungmi-ah. We understand that you like Jungwon more than us," Heeseung joked. Sunghoon crackled beside Heeseung when he heard Kyungmiu suck her teeth before muttering to herself.
"Come on, leave nuna alone," Niki protested.
Kyungmi turned her head back to look at them, "thank you, Niki-ya."
Niki nodded his head with a smile. Kyungmi furrowed her brows before completely pulling away from Jungwon. Jungwon frowned, but Kyungmi made sure to leave her hands resting on his waist. Sunghoon wiggled his brows at Jungwon while nudging his hand down to her hands.
Jungwon shook his head at his hyeong. "Where are the other three?" All eyes darted to Kyungmi. Her eyes shot around the living room and she attempted to peek into part of the kitchen, looking for the remainder of the group. "Where is Sunoo-ya, Jake-sii, and Jay-sii?"
Her eyes darted up to Jungwon. Jungwon looked back down at her. "They aren't feeling too good right now. They caught some cold, so they decided to stay home so they wouldn't get you guys sick."
Kyungmi made an 'ah' sound. When Kyungmi noticed that all eyes were on her and Jungwon, she quickly moved to pull away. She moved to sit on the couch, waiting for Jungwon to join her. Everyone watched as Jungwon sat directly next to Kyungmi. "So, how come you guys are here?" Taeri piped up.
"We're off punishment," Heeseung said with a triumphant look.
The two girls nodded their heads in understanding. Taeri continued to steal glances at Sunghoon, as he did the same, occasionally making eye contact. Maeyeong pulled a face, looking between Taeri and Sunghoon. "Did I happen to miss something while I was gone?"
