"What's the news got to say about today, huh?" Swift asked as he flopped down onto his worn, brown cloth couch with his TV remote in his paw. For a sly, sneaky fox like himself, he didn't have a lot of money or a large number of expensive things.

He pressed the power button and the TV screen flickered on, showing static for a moment before tuning in on Channel 6 Action News. On the TV, their star reporter Tiffany Fluffit was staring down the camera with the town hall behind her.

"...the most diabolical criminals of our time. To address this heinous crime spree is the newly elected governor, Diane Foxington." Until Diane was mentioned, Swift was relatively uninterested in what was going on, but as the camera swung to the right to reveal a stunning-looking fox in a grey suit stepping up to a podium on the top of the stairs, he was on full alert.

"Okay, yeah. I hear you, I hear you." She said, trying to calm down the reporters shouting questions and waving microphones at her before beginning her speech. "Listen, listen. We all know how dastardly The Bad Guys are... But more than anything, I feel sorry for them!"

Swift shook his head, beyond confused as to what he had just heard. Why does this new governor feel sorry for The Bad Guys? Has she got some sort of ulterior motive? Some kind of mastermind plan that involved shrinking their egos so much in the public eye that they had to do something so stupid, so risky, that they'd surely end up making it personal and get thrown into prison for it?

"I've gotta hand it to this one, she knows what game she's playing." Swift said with a nod, respecting what she was saying.

"These so-called Bad Guys are really just second-rate has-beens. Behind their amateurish antics and, frankly, unoriginal capers... I mean, really, another bank?... is nothing but a deep well of anger, denial and self-loathing." Swift grimaced. Harsh... Though, she did have quite the way with words. "And those are holes that no amount of cash or priceless art can ever fill. So, can we just forget about The Bad Guys for once and focus on more positive things? And what could be more positive than the Annual Good Samaritan Awards, where tomorrow night I will present the Golden Dolphin to this year's goodest citizen?"

Swift turned the TV off and shook his head, slapping his knees and standing up before heading to the kitchen. "If they're so good, maybe I should try getting in with them..." He said jokingly as he pulled his refrigerator door open and produced a can of beer from one of the shelves.

"Maybe I should go to that ceremony tomorrow... Gives me a good excuse to break out my black suit."

I adjusted my red tie as I walked up the front steps of the building, taking notice of the governor talking with a rather dapper-looking wolf in a white-padded suit.

After taking a photo with her, the wolf walked away and glanced at me, but my eyes were fixed on Diane. She turned from a shadow art exhibit of a swan and the two of us locked eyes from across the court, freezing in our respective places. After a few moments of staring, she shook her head and smiled, waving at me. I nervously raised my paw and waved as well before forcing my legs to carry me towards her. She seemed to do the same, and after a small few moments of walking, we met at a square planter box with a palm tree in it.

"Ms Governor!" I exclaimed, smiling at her despite the infinite nervousness I was feeling at the moment. "It's a pleasure to meet you, even more so as you're one of my kind." I said, flashing her a grin to make her think I was confident as I extended a slightly shaky paw for a pawshake.
