Chapter 16

3rd POV

"Tanjiro?"

Nezuko said a bit quiet as she stood outside of his door, trying to listen if she could hear any kind of sound from inside of the room.

"Are you alright? Zenitsu explained that he had heard some disturbing noises from your room...please open the door?" She said concerned as she looked at Zenitsu who was behind her.

"I-I don't hear anything..." He stuttered a bit as he shook his head, being afraid of what might have happened.

"Tanjiro please open the door!" Nezuko shouted this time as she tried to open it, but couldn't since the door was locked from the inside.

She tried her best to open the door but came to no avail as she began to panic, looking around just to see a confused Shinobu walking towards them.

"My, my, what's wrong?" She asked a bit confused of why they were up so late at night.

"It's Tanjiro! He won't open the door or answer me at all!" Nezuko slightly yelled, which caught the attention of a certain water pillar.

"Nezuko...what's happening?" Tomioka asked as he walked over to her, grabbing the door handle as he tried to open the door himself.

"It's completely shut...something must've happened to him." He said right before he kicked the door down, not caring much at all as he walked inside.

"W-where is he?!" Nezuko yelled as she looked around the whole room for him, but couldn't find him anywhere.

"Look!" Zenitsu pointed at the open window in his room, Tomioka walked over to in in a quick pace as he peeled outside to look.

"There are tracks in the ground outside, but they're too big to be his, so someone must've kidnapped him." Tomioka said with a frown as he got a bit worried.

"We need to go find him! Please!" Nezuko said in fear since she knew where he would be taken, knowing that the Demon king himself needed him, but she didn't know the reason why.

"I'll go inform the master!" Shinobu said as she stormed off to the Ubuyashiki estate.

"Tomioka-san! Please get my brother back!" Nezuko begged as tears began to form in her eyes, not wanting to loose her only family member she had left.

"Hm.." Tomioka nodded as he petted her head softly.

"I promise to bring your brother back, okay?"

She nodded hysterically as a few tears ran down her cheeks. Knowing that he would keep his promise as she was pulled into a hug by Zenitsu, who obviously wanted to comfort her.

"Let me go!" Tanjiro yelled as he struggled against Akaza's grip, needing to get away from him as soon as possible as he didn't want to go back to the infinity fortress.

"Just be quiet and be thankful that it wasn't Douma that came to get you!" Akaza yelled back at him as he frowned, getting annoyed at his struggle.

Tanjiro tried his best to get away from him, even if he knew that it was pointless. Akaza ran through the forest as he was rather harsh on the kid, not wanting to be that way in reality as he was just following orders.

Meanwhile...

"Tomioka and Shinazugawa, I want you two to get back Tanjiro, the rest of you spread out in different parts to help with the search." The master spoke in a serious tone, knowing well of what Muzan was capable of if he got Tanjiro back.

"Yes master." They all said in unison as they all parted their ways, except for Giyuu and Sanemi of course.

"Ugh, why the hell did I need to be pared with you." Sanemi said annoyed as he ran beside Giyuu, who obviously didn't answer him.

They ran through the forest, searching for the red head as they looked around, trying to find at least a small hint of him. Having searched for only ten minutes as Giyuu saw something on the ground.

"Shinazugawa." Giyuu said as he glanced back at him, alerting him that he's found something. Sanemi just nodded as he followed him.

Giyuu walked a bit further as he picked up a piece of clothing from the ground, seeing that it's possibly been torn off to leave a hint of him.

"It's Tanjiro's, and it's not that dirty either so it shouldn't have been torn for that long ago." Giyuu spoke while he held the clothing from Tanjiro's haori.

"If so then he's probably not that far away from him, I'll send out a crow to alert the others to search in this area." Sanemi said as his crow landed on his arm, giving it instructions as he then let it fly away.

Giyuu nodded as he moved his hand a bit, gesturing him that they should continue their search.

"You damn idiot!" Tanjiro yelled as he bit Akaza's hand.

"Ow!" Akaza let go of Tanjiro from the sudden feeling as he didn't notice his mistake until he saw Tanjiro run away from him, the bite mark instantly healed as he rushed after him.

Tanjiro was able to get pretty far away from him, but wasn't as fast as Akaza as he got caught by him again, this time more roughly as he was pinned down to the ground with a lot of force which made him almost gasp for air. He breathed in deeply as he let out a scream, hoping that someone would hear him before he was knocked unconscious.

"Tch...stupid enough to think he could actually escape..!" Akaza frowned as he looked around, making sure no one was near them as he picked up the unconscious boy from the ground.

"Did you hear that?" Sanemi looked over at Giyuu, who clearly nodded as he heard the scream too.
