(This is an AU where Shoto and Vox's relationship is toxic)
Shoto and Vox were in love during middle school. Vox would always go to bars with other people now. Shoto missed the old times were he had dates with Vox. Shoto and Vox would always argue every day. "Vox I told you to stop drinking! It's bad for your health!" Shoto yelled at Vox. "I don't care!" Vox was drunk again.
Shoto could only hide his tears. He didn't like when Vox was drunk. Until Shoto was about to say another word. Vox threw a glass bottle at Shoto, and Shoto could only cry about how painful it hurt. "Stop crying it makes you look like a baby Shoto." Vox rolled his eyes. One of Shoto's legs was bleeding.
Shoto didn't know Vox could be like this. He loved when Vox was flirty and happy, he wouldn't argue with him. The Vox now would argue with him, he would be cruel and reckless. Shoto ran to the bathroom and locked the door. He could only break down crying, he couldn't handle himself.
He wished Vox had just drank wine just a little. Whenever Shoto would insist him to stop drinking Vox wouldn't listen to him. Whenever Shoto came to pick Vox up he would sometimes see him flirting with different girls. Shoto would take care of Vox, sometimes they wouldn't fight.
Shoto was worried about Vox's health. He kept on drinking every day. Shoto would bring Vox to the hospital and the doctors would do check-ups on Vox. Shoto watched the tv in Vox's and his room. "You're moving to the couch," Vox said in a drunk voice.
"Why?" Shoto looked at Vox "I thought you loved sleeping with me." Shoto frowned. Vox could throw Shoto out of the room and Shoto could only have bruises on his body. At school, Shu, Uki, Mysta, and Minase were worried about Shoto. Shoto would cry and pretend everything is okay at the same time but he couldn't control his tears.
"You should break up with him Shoto." Shu patted his back. "B-But he is the only person I love." Shoto sobbed. All of them hugged him. Shoto truly still loved Vox but Shoto would sometimes overthink that Vox doesn't love him. Deep in Vox's heart, he loved Shoto, he couldn't control himself only his drunk self could.
Vox was about to apologize to Shoto but he saw Shoto packing his bags. "Shoto what is wrong you could tell me." Vox hugged him worried. As Vox was about to say another word Shoto snapped. "Can't you understand of all of the pain I witnessed from you?! We would always fight every night!" Shoto yelled at him. "Shoto I." Vox's tears fall.
"You would always cheat on me with random fucking people! Can't you see I cared for you about your health?! I cared about it! But in return, you would reckless and cruel to me!" Shoto's tears fell. Vox went silent and wished he had never been drugged by his friends.
"Vox... Why do you have to be cruel to my heart?" Shoto cried. Vox hugged Shoto. "Babe I am sorry. I was drugged by my friends. I am sorry." Vox patted Shoto's hair. Shoto shoved Vox away. "I will come back after two years, when I return I may be back with you or not." Shoto carried his bags.
"S-Shoto don't leave me please." Vox cried begging him to not go. Shoto shut the door in front of him and Vox could only cry. Time passes by and Vox would take care of his health. He would take care of his grades and Vox graduated to his dream high school.
Vox would miss Shoto but he would believe in Shoto and he would do everything for Shoto. Vox ended up being a successful person at the business company. Vox heard a knock in his office. Vox opened the door and he saw Shoto. Vox couldn't recognize him, he could only see him as his co-worker. "What brings you here?" Vox smiled.
"Vox do you remember me?" Shoto's eyes watered. Vox realized it was his old boyfriend. Vox was happy to reunite with Shoto. "Oh, it's you Shoto! How is life now?" Vox smiled. "It was difficult without you. But I have been searching for you. I want to go back with you." Shoto smiled. Vox thought about it. "Shall we just start as best friends so it would be easier for us to start our relationship?" Vox smiled.
Shoto nodded. The two has been best friend for ten months. It was New Year, and Shoto and Vox went outside to look at the stars together. Fireworks popped through the sky. Shoto loved the view of the fireworks. "Shoto." Vox smiled.
"Yes, Vox?" Shoto smiled. "Will you now be my boyfriend?" Vox smiled. "Yes!" Shoto smiled pecking his cheek. The both kissed under the fireworks and it felt magical.
