Shoto and Vox has been friends for years now. "Mysta. I think I am in love with Vox." Shoto blushed twirling his hair. "Well why don't confess to him?" Mysta smiled. "No not yet." Shoto blushed covering his face. "Oh come on Shoto. If you like him why don't you tell him?" Shoto lowered his hands, staring at the ground. "I can't.. I am too nervous." He played with his fingers blushing. "Vox is just so wonderful and handsome and beautiful. And kind. We are best friends because we understand each other." Shoto sighed, a tear falling from his eye.
His eyes turned misty. "He'll never like me. Why would he ever? He is my soulmate and I have no soul." Shoto stared at the ground again. "Shoto stop being a idiot of course he loves you." Mysta laugh wiping his tears off. Shoto looked up and gave his friend a watery smile. "Thank you, Mysta." They smiled at each other for a moment.
Shoto saw Vox coming towards him and Shoto wiped his tears. "Hey Shoto are you okay?" Vox smiled sweetly. Shoto couldn't help but feel butterflies in his stomach. He had known Vox for ages already. They were inseparable. 'Just friends.' Shoto thought to himself. He shook away his thoughts and smiled at his best friend. "Yes of course." Vox frowned at him. "Really? Because something seems to be bothering you." Shoto shook his head and smiled shyly. "It's nothing serious. I should get going anyways it's almost P.E." He took a step back. "See you later Vox." He walked away leaving his best friend with a worried look.
He was about to walk out the front doors of his class when a boy bumped into him.
They both fell down hard. "Ow" Shoto said as he fell. "Are you okay?" He got up holding out a hand. It was Shu yamino. "Oh hey Shu." Shoto smiled taking the hand. Shu chuckled. "I am sorry about that though, I wasn't paying attention where I was going." Shoto laughed lightly. "Don't worry, no harm done, right?" Shu smiled. Shoto waved goodbye to Shu.
Shoto saw Vox holding hands with the new boy, Ike eveland. Shoto calmed his self down but the more he saw Vox smiling at him it hurts. Shoto started to cough hydrangeas on the floor. He sat there coughing for a few minutes until he stopped. He felt like he could breathe again.
The flowers faded from his vision and his mind cleared, finally. Shoto saw blood and flowers mixed with his throat. Shoto kept on coughing and Mysta went to the bathroom to see Shoto throwing up. "Oh my god! Shoto are you okay?!" Mysta went by Shoto's blood. Shoto coughed flowers and Mysta realized he had Hanahaki disease. "It's that dickhead Vox isn't it?!" Mysta yelled holding Shoto's shoulders.
"N-No Mysta it's alright." Shoto coughed. His vision blurred and suddenly everything went black. Shoto woke up coughing up flowers, blood, and what seemed to be his organs. Shoto felt horrible, he was sweating and crying uncontrollably. He wanted to fix this. He didn't want to make Vox worried. He didn't want Vox mad at him, he had just confessed and now he was having this disease.
Shoto didn't even know if Vox liked men or women, or if he even existed. Shoto's world began fading around him and then everything went blank. A couple months passed, Shoto was not feeling well. He was getting worse and worse. The doctors told him that the only way this was going to stop is for him to die. But he refused. There had to be another option, otherwise Shoto would have tried to confess to Vox in the first place. Shoto knew if he died he would leave Vox alone.
Shoto wanted to confessed to Vox. He had made an appointment and he was going to do it soon. He had a bouquet of flowers, red tulips, poppies, marigold, and red roses. Shoto had spent a good amount of money on flowers for Vox and all he got were red roses. Red roses meant love. "I can't wait to confess." He smiled how excited he was to Shu, Mysta, and Uki.
The others were worried for Shoto. They all knew he needed to get better. Shoto's doctor told them he had Hanahaki disease and they all prayed that he would get better before it killed him. Mysta was shocked as he saw Vox kissing Ike under a tree.
Shu covered Shoto's eyes. "Hey Shoto don't look. Lets just go back!" Mysta laughed. "But I want to confess to Vox." He whined. "We can do it another time." Shu covered his eyes more. Shoto pushed them away and went more further. As Shoto was about to yell Vox's name he rolled down his tears.
He saw an sight of Vox kissing Ike. Shoto coughed and his yellow cardigan started having red stains in his cardigan with petals. His hanahaki disease got worser. Shoto cried harder. Shoto felt numbness take over. He closed his eyes slowly. "Goodbye Vox..." He whispered quietly before passing out. 'I love you. I am your soulmate.' Shoto's last thought before passing out of his wheelchair.
Shoto felt the snow on his face and he felt everything getting warmer. He saw the snow with his blood in a blurrier vision. "You fucking dick!" Mysta yelled at Vox and slapped him with tears. Shu held Shoto and Uki started calling ambulance. Ike was shocked and he checked Shoto's pulse.
"Shoto! Come on dude wake up. You need help." Mysta yelled as he shook Shoto awake gently. "Come on stay alive." Shu muttered and cried softly. Shoto opened his eyes to the blurry sight of Vox. All he could hear is. "I love yo-" Vox said and Shoto started to pass out. Vox gasped as Shoto passed out. Vox grabbed his phone.
Vox was crying on the hospital waiting room. "Your bitch! I gave you a hint about it and you never get it! He's been like this for two months!" Mysta cried and Ike comforted Mysta's back. Shu was slient but had tears. Shu was slient and he hugged Luca and started crying. Everything wasn't the same anymore without Shoto. As Vox was going to visit Shoto with flowers he saw a lot of nurses pushing him and running to Shoto's room.
Vox was shocked and started to cry. "Mama is brother okay?" Saori asked and Shoto's mother was crying. "No no!! Let me in!!" Vox cried as Voxanne held him tight. "It's too late Vox!" Voxanne cried. "I want to see him!" he cried. Shoko was crying and Lucy comforted her. Vox cried and he heard the heartbeat machine sound going high. Vox cried and cried.
Things got different after Shoto's vigil and funeral. Mysta started rival relationships with Vox, Ike was dating Mysta, and everything was slient after his death. Shoto opened his eyes and saw a area he never recognized but he didn't care. "Guys I am back!" He saw Mysta and as he ran to him he fell in the floor. "Huh?." Shoto tried touching Vox but he went walked passed him. Shoto realized he was a ghost. "Your not the only ghost here." Ether smiled. "Ether!" He hugged Ether and cried. "Hey, its okay. I will always be with you okay? No matter what happens I promise you." Ether placed his hand on Shoto's shoulder.
Shoto saw Vox crying and crying. "He's been drinking, skipping food, staying with you, and watching you all day." Ether looked at Vox. Shoto went in front of the gravestone and saw his name carved. Shoto realized he was dead.
