Shoto and Vox were an average couple since at highschool. Shoto was a demon slayer and Vox was a demon. They didn't care if they looked different, just that they worked well together. Their relationship was something to be admired and praised for, it seemed like the perfect match to them both.
The two of them had been dating ever since then, it wasn't a secret but some people still found their relationship strange. Shoto never cared about anyone's opinion on it though, he knew Vox would always be there for him no matter what.
And even if someone questioned why the two of them weren't married yet, he wouldn't budge on the topic. He was happy as long as Vox loved him, and that was enough for Vox in his life, he felt complete and he was a great person to talk to Even when Vox was angry or frustrated, he always knew what to do to calm him down.
Sometimes Shoto would tease Vox When Vox got angry. "I was just teasing, babe." Shoto grabbed both of Vox's cheeks and kissed him. Vox melted into the kiss and relaxed, he was always more comfortable with Shoto's touches than any other human being.
And while Shoto may have been a demon slayer, that did not mean that he didn't have feelings towards humans either but only him. "It was just a little joke..." Shoto muttered. His ears went pink at the thought of it. "Just a little joke." The demon slayer leaned up and pecked Vox on the lips laying next to him. "Darling." Vox smiled. "Yes, Vox?" Shoto smiled.
"Can you sing me a lullaby?" Vox smiled. Shoto was a little embarrassed, "Are you sure?" Shoto blushed. Vox nodded and Shoto decided to sing for Vox. Shoto got his guitar and started singing him a lullaby as he played the guitar simultaneously.
Vox loved the sound of Shoto's melody ringing through his ear. It made him feel warm and fuzzy inside and he was grateful for all the things the demon slayer did for him. Shoto enjoyed singing for Vox and he kissed his cheek as he drifted himself to sleep. Shoto watched Vox closely as he slept peacefully, smiling to himself. Vox always looked beautiful when he slept. Shoto pulled the blanket to Vox more so he would be warm, he would close the curtains, close the door, and adjust Vox's pillows.
Vox loved that Shoto would tease him, but deeper inside he would care about him. Until everything took a big turn after 6 months of their relationship, Vox wouldn't stop drinking wine, "No Vox, no wine." Shoto puffed his cheeks pulling the wine away. "Come on, darling. One more bottle and it wouldn't hurt?" Vox smiled.
Shoto sighed, "Fine but if you get drunk, your sleeping on the couch." Shoto pouted. Vox smiled and took one more bottle, "Thanks darling" Vox kissed Shoto's cheek and snuggled against him. That night was the worst night for Vox. His chest ached and burned from the alcohol. Every time he tried to sleep he'd toss and turn in bed and every time he woke up he'd feel sick. He was exhausted but he couldn't fall back asleep.
"Vox? What are you doing out here this late?" Shoto asked walking over to his boyfriend. "I don't know," Vox said. "Do you want me to shower you?" Shoto offered. "Yeah.." Vox walked and Shoto held his hand leading him upstairs.
Shoto helped Vox inside and shut the door behind them. Shoto brought Vox to the shower, Shoto got the shower ready, while Vox was walking in circles. "Do you want to hop in the bath?" Shoto smiled. Vox nodded, Shoto started taking off his clothes, and gave Vox a nice bath.
Shoto pulled Vox out of the bath, Shoto changed Vox into his pajamas. Vox slept and Shoto was cuddling Vox being there for him. "Shoto?" Vox mumbled. "Hm?" Shoto hummed. Vox sat up and kissed Shoto, "Thank you." Shoto smiled. Vox would get drunk as the days passed by, and Shoto was tired of it.
Shoto would argue with Vox, sometimes. "Gosh, Vox couldn't you stop drinking? You're going to kill yourself!" Shoto said. "Why should I?!" Vox shouted. "Because I love you! I care about you!" Shoto sighed.
"Gosh, you are such a pain in the as Why are we even together!? Just because I'm a demon doesn't make us soulmates!" Vox shouted throwing a glass across the room. Shoto went quiet as Vox started going far. "Gosh, I should've killed you in the first place!" Vox slapped Shoto.
"Fine if you want to argue with me all day, be like that!" Shoto yelled at him with tears. Vox decided to ignore Shoto. One day, Vox was worried for Shoto and he couldn't find him. Until he found a note in the drawers. Shoto wanted to meet Vox in the forest.
Vox went to the forest where they would always hang out. Shoto was there holding his knife. "Shoto?" Vox stopped walking and he stand. "Oh, you here." Shoto smiled. "What do you want to talk about?" Vox asked. "Can you kill me?" Shoto smiled.
"Shoto I didn't mean it." Vox hugged Shoto. Shoto was quiet for a while, "You wanted to kill me, so it's your chance." Shoto's tears run down his cheeks as he shoved Vox away. Vox threw the knife away and Shoto caught it.
"Shoto don't you dare." Vox got worried. "Goodbye, Vox." Shoto stabbed himself. "Vox quickly catches Shoto. Vox's tears couldn't stop as the rain started pouring down. "Come on Shoto. This is a joke." Vox's tears dropped and he put his haori on Shoto's body. "Shoto wake up!" Vox shakes him.
Vox instantly regretted the words he yelled at his mouth. If he wouldn't stress his boyfriend a lot, he wouldn't die. Shoto was rushed to the hospital. After two hours, the doctors came out. "Is he okay?!" Vox jumped out of his seat. The doctors bowed their heads down. "I am sorry sir, we tried our bests. But unfortunately, he died due to a lot of blood loss." The doctor's tears fall.
Vox's tears fell. A lot of thoughts run through his mind. That night he regretted everything.
