Shoto and Vox had been friends since elementary. They were inseparable, always together, inseparable like two magnets. It was natural for them to be like that, but Shoto had secret feelings for Vox. When he realized it, he felt as if he'd been struck by lightning. He had no idea why, it wasn't a big deal for him, he loved his best friend, so what?
But something about him made Shoto feel things he hadn't felt before, and he couldn't understand. His thoughts often turned to the boy who could be considered his soulmate, his true love, Vox. But he knew he was in love with someone else. That is, until one day when Vox walked into school with a new friend, a beautiful girl with long black hair and green eye. "Oh, Shoto meet, Annalise Astor!" Vox introduced Shoto to the girl.
She had a kind smile and she seemed happy with her new friends, even though she looked shy. And then Shoto saw her, he saw her, and he wanted to scream. She was so beautiful compared to himself, it hurt Shoto to see his friend with another girl since he crushed on him for so long. He thought of confessing to Vox but he didn't want to upset him or make him uncomfortable. So instead of saying anything, he tried to get over his crush by going through his everyday life. After all, how much could they even talk anyway Shoto got his chance to finally speak to Vox. He had been avoiding him for weeks because he had no idea what to say to him.
Every time he tried to start a conversation he froze up and ended up looking away. It was hard to talk to Vox without stuttering or blushing. But this time, he was determined to say something, even if it meant risking their friendship. He just hoped it would go well. He decided to do something stupid.
He was planning on taking a shower after practice but his mind wandered elsewhere. So he changed his clothes, grabbed his towel, and stepped out of the locker room. He decided to confess to Vox tomorrow since it has been nine years.
And yet there was still a tiny part of him that worried that maybe he wouldn't take the hint. Maybe he would laugh at him or tell him he already liked someone else, that's how much they have grown apart from each other. What if that person wasn't Vox? If that happened he might never be able to look at his friend the same way again.
When practice was over, Shoto went straight home. He sat down in front of his computer and breathed took deep breaths and started typing his confession. Shoto ignored the thoughts in his mind.
Dear Vox, I loved you since middle school. I think you are beautiful and unique the way you are, and I want to spend my life with you forever! I love your smile and everything about you, it always brightens my days.Love,Shoto
After typing in his message he stared at the screen. He took a deep breath, put his hand to his chest, and exhaled. He looked up at the clock. It was almost 10 pm; he needed to go to sleep soon or he'll be late for his next class tomorrow. He closed his laptop and headed towards his bed, falling asleep thinking about a certain dark-haired boy. Shoto was embarrassed and decided to not send his confession.

The next morning Shoto arrived at school with confidence. He had practiced every possible scenario, trying to come up with the most perfect way to approach his crush. The more he thought about it the worse it became, so he did what he usually did whenever he felt bad about something.
